this is basically a slightly groovier version of their last album.

Heard this at MDF. I like.

molesting the decapitated and butcher the weak had sex

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at May 26,2009 3:41pm
After the 2 songs were put up on MySpace I was skeptical this album would have minimal slam. Saying MTD and BTW had sex is pretty much the most accurate description though. Not as much slam as MTD but more than enough to make up for BTW, and there are some sick grooves. At first I didn't like the production, but it's very consistent with the rest of their releases: kinda dirty, heavy and powerful. I'm glad to see they didn't try to mix it up too much.

Never ever understood the appeal of this band. I sold their demo on Ebay for $100. So worth it.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at May 26,2009 4:14pm
They were the first band to be recognized for using slam as a staple to their style; of course when they first started and were relevant to the beginning of that shit no one gave a fuck, but as soon as they broke up they became a hot commodity.

Baphomet according to your attire.

Just don't tell Internal Bleeding that.

Chris Pervellis called...he thinks you've overlooked some details here.
YOUR CHRONOLOGY IS FAIL.

devourment used to be cool (although i never liked em, i respected em) but now they are for scene fags and euros who wanna debate "slam" from "true" slam, to wigger slam and any other subgenric derivation (drowning in phemaldehyde).

BRO CHECK THIS SIQ LINK TO MAI NEW DEVOURMENT MAGGOT THAT I JUST DREW WHILST DAY DREAMING OF JEWSKI BLOWING A HOT LOAD ON MY BACK.

I didn't dig Butcher the Weak but Devourment still remains at the top of the current br00tal/slam death heap, while the endless amount of clones squirm beneath them.

toggletoggle post by moenli at May 27,2009 2:07pm
i dig this release way more than BTW

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 27,2009 2:08pm
Me too.

But the yellow or green BTW?!

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at May 27,2009 2:34pm
I guess what I should have said was "it seems they were the first band to be recognized..." The key word there is recognized; I didn't say they invented slam. Plus, Internal Bleeding always had a lot more variation in their music than Devourment. Devourment put a hell of a lot more emphasis on slower slams and more slams, as well as a higher contrast between fast and slow riffs, which in my opinion makes the slower riffs feel a lot slower and heavier.

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 27,2009 2:39pm
I remember getting the 2 song promo tape in the mail before anyone knew them, still have it.

toggletoggle post by MikeOfDecrepitude at May 27,2009 2:46pm
Hah, Mark, I'm not sure if you're responding to Corpus, or myself, but I was just cracking a joke. Internal Bleeding have always cried foul for not being recognized as one of the earliest bands to heavily rely upon slam riffs for their sound. Unlike Repudilation, Disfigured, and Dehumanized; Internal Bleeding decided to tarnished their career and legacy, despite releasing the milestone that was Voracious Contempt.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at May 27,2009 2:48pm
I was responding to Nick (Corpus). I actually laughed when I saw your post, so no worries, haha.

LOL you liek trainz?

listening now. first song up until the last 30 seconds was boring, uncreative and the riffs didn't flow into one another at all. Onto track 2.

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at May 28,2009 10:35am
This album is fucking garbage.

toggletoggle post by mikeofdecrepitude at May 28,2009 2:17pm
I'll have to dissent with the opinion above. This album is inducing violent motions in the comfort of my office chair.

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at May 28,2009 2:56pm
Same here.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at May 28,2009 6:23pm
The production reminds me of Mortician, but with a little less bass in the mix.

I honestly don't give a fuck if a band changes, if I like the music I like it. I know most of you on here probably don't like From a Second Story Window, but I do, and they haven't written one cd that sounds the same but I still love the band. I agree with a lot of the people above who said it sounds like a mix between BTW and MTD, and I like it either way.

Plus, they did it without the assistance of widebrim baseball caps, so that has to count for something.

fuck it, edited twice. Too many fails.

toggletoggle post by metalguy2 at May 29,2009 12:21pm
When I was listening to this album I felt like I was listening to a metronome that was set to a faster bpm. There isn't that much rhythmic variation throughout the songs.

This album isn't terrible, but definitely not worth buying when there have been better death metal releases.

toggletoggle post by aaron_michael  at Jul 1,2009 1:16pm
I put off getting this because of all the passive feedback, but after giving it a listen all the way through, I don't hate it.

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Jul 2,2009 3:17pm
Sloppy rubbish.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Jul 2,2009 3:38pm
This album definitely lost my attention pretty quickly. I listened to it again the other day and wasn't nearly as into it as I was when I first picked it up. I shut it off after 2 songs. Oh well.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Jul 2,2009 5:38pm
Yeah, it was good the first few times. After that I lost interest. Listen to it every now and then, but I haven't gone through the whole thing in a while.
