well now that where all friends and in the honest opinion circle, corpus: our music might not be your style i see you played in dysentery wich is an amazing brutal band, but our music is deff. good like i said maybe not your style but you cant down grade good shit when you hear it. ARCHEAON: you guys are very technical and brutal i love your shit, especially for a bunch of 20 year olds that only got some a little known because you swallow composted's nut. but your singer blows sorry. its true he's sick at what he does i'll give that but not diverse enough for the rest of your band. and when you guys have a drummer cant wait to maybe some day play shows.

Pretty crappy, you guys shoulda practiced before you recorded.

all honesty.me no likey.the vocals are weak with lousy structure,drums are really loose.I listen to alot of dif' style of metal but you just are not grabbing me.almost like you are trying to hard and failling miserably.don't get me wrong the guitar work is okay but everything else is an epic fail.I can't hear the bass to well so I'll leave that alone.drums are key in a band imo and that is the biggest lacking followed close by vocals.guitar is okay and like i said bass I cant tell.......

I, being a member of composted prefer to think of them as close friends, and I think I speak for the rest of composted when I see that. Not to mention, what does their age and friendship with a band have to do with your recording? And speaking of your recording...

Remember when you guys (Josh) said you were down to record with me a few months back? Remember how you guys just blew me off and didn't even send a message saying, "sorry we found someone else?" I'll take this "recording criticism" a step further and say that you guys are the least professional people I've been involved with to date. And one last note, why ask for honest criticism if you can't take it and when it comes? If you don't like it, shut up and carry on. Don't have an attitude and talk macho to people who gave you what you specifically asked for. :l

keep it in the garage boys until you have something more refined and can handle legit opinions about your product.

Vocals remind me of sexcrement and white chapel. guitars are good- i like the lead work but need to be louder. drummer needs to work on the blasts. all around not bad band but nothing special

As far as your music goes, I didn't listen to it. I can only imagine how not so good it is if it makes you feel any better. Whatever though, if you like it, do what makes YOU happy and don't worry about what idiots like all of us have to say.

As everyone else has said, you asked for honest opinions, so you should be prepared to receive them no matter how shitty they may be. It's easy to get worked up over anything negative that someone has to say about your band or whatever you're passionate about, but the truth is, harsh criticism is what anyone needs in order to improve, if improvement is necessary (9 times out of 10 it is, or at least will never hurt, no matter how good you think you are or how good anyone else thinks you are).

That being said, the majority of the material is indeed sloppy in recording (since this is just a demo, I assume, this doesn't matter as much as musical aspects), composition and execution. There are some good riffs here and there and some of the lead work sounds like it would stand alone well, but they don't really fit in the songs for the most part. The songs in general are lacking essential aspects to hold the structure together proficiently (think about creative ways to accent, transition and structure the songs to achieve a good flow). Some of the drum work is a bit inconsistent as well, mainly blasts, which are more or less essential to this style of music.

Before the next recording, practice your asses off to become as tight as possible, not only individually but as a band, and I'm sure there will be massive improvement. The best things bands can do for themselves are to be their own worst critics and also take into consideration criticism that anyone else has. Obviously if someone is knocking the style, those comments can be voided. As far as all other criticism goes, you can either take it or leave it, but don't get pissy and start sidetracking into calling people out on issues that have nothing at all to do with what you asked for.

If it's not constructive. Don't even acknowledge it. If it's constructive, yet not positive, take it into consideration. Disagree without attacking someone else.

Listen to your recording honestly. Compare it to other bands. Do you really think you're as tight as you should have been before recording?

I don't particularly care for slammy brutal death metal (unless it's hilarious), so I'm not going to get into songwriting. But execution is a constant. I think it sounds sloppy as well.

When I've asked foh "honest" opinions on my music I've gotten good reviews with afew honest suggestions. But they were all friends. So I guess RTTP is a good place for honest and abnoxious opinions.

that's very true, but how many people actually view themselves and what they do objectively? i'd say 1 out of every 1000 people i meet actually would be able to critique themselves accurately. the rest are so bloated with themselves they think they shit gold.

My honest opinion....

1. Your drummer plays beyond his abilities. Having him simplify things would probably go a long way in tightening things up.

2. Ditch the shredding solos. They're cliche.

3. Work on your downbeats. Probably the most important beat, and you all need to be together on them. Many instances where you are not.

4. Tighten the transitions! The transitions from part to part are extremely sloppy (added beats, missed beats, etc.). That shit needs to be tighter than a nuns vagina. Again, having the drummer simplify things would probably help.

5. Really listen to the recording, and figure out what needs to be better, and work at it.


That said, there is some heavy shit in there. Nothing ground breaking, but I don't think you're trying to be ground breaking, so I'm assuming you're cool with that.

I like the way the guitars sound.

regarding the vocals on the archaeon recording, I probably hate them more than anyone. But I don't see how he's not diverse, he has a variety of different styles that i feel he executes pretty well. plus he can do predator vocals nao. Also, I was 15/16 and Martins was 17/18 when all the material from the EP was written. DO EYE GET SCENE POINTS?
