wondering how much the ceos of some of these bailed out companies made in the last couple years?

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Business/Economy/story?id=5876413

maybe if these people didn't make such ludicrously oversized salaries they could've used those millions of dollars to save their businesses.

you'll never guess who made the most of everyone on that list...

Crucifixion was invented for times like this.

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Oct 8,2008 2:54am
I take that back- I hope their children are raped and THEN drowned.

toggletoggle post by Samantha at Oct 8,2008 3:09am
So, why are we giving money to these rich bastards again?

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Oct 8,2008 3:29am
so they can use the money almost as startup capital to "bail out" their companies.

it's all part of the plan

toggletoggle post by Samantha at Oct 8,2008 3:41am
Yeah, I know that. I just think it's ridiculous. There is no reason why executives should be making so much money and spending my tax dollars on a luxurious vacation when their businesses are going under. They should take responsibility for their actions. I shouldn't have to pay for their stupidity.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Oct 8,2008 3:43am
the new zeitgeist covers a lot of this. i'm about halfway through it right now and i must say the subject material and the timing of its release is impeccable

toggletoggle post by Samantha at Oct 8,2008 3:49am
I'll have to watch that whenever I stop being so angry and stressed out about money. Seriously. The economy is making me angry. I work more than 40 hours every week. I work my butt off. I have a college degree for which I worked my butt off. There is no reason why my pay check shouldn't be able to cover my bills. There is no reason why some jerkwads who ran their companies into the ground should be living it up on my tax dollars while I'm not even sure how I'm going to afford to eat for the next week. Screw them! I'm pissed!

Death to America!

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Oct 8,2008 3:55am
eh...more like the world. capitalism is on its way out. debt has lead us to a new financial institution...more debt, just on a global scale.

did you hear russia just bought iceland?

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Oct 8,2008 4:53am
eh, this one's a little more preachy towards the end and spends way too much time on one dude's utopian view of the future.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Oct 8,2008 8:23am
wow. i mean, we all knew that stuff like this was gonna happen, but so soon? Wouldn't you think that they would try and hide it a little?

Fuck corporate America. When I had my long hair I would never hear the end of it. I won't be involved in this crap much longer I hope.

dispite everything you know by giving that much money too companies they will be looking forward to a vacation.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Oct 8,2008 2:09pm
well what would you do if you got hundreds of millions of dollars? it basically buys them the ability to not have to give a shit.

toggletoggle post by jacksonmang at Oct 8,2008 2:09pm
those mofos should be sentenced to ten years of nonstop ass-raping in which case the final diameter of their asshole could be bet on w/ the remainder of the tax money and given back to the tax paying winner like a lottery. that in itself should stimulate something.

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Oct 8,2008 2:24pm
I like your thinking, Jacksonmang, but where in your plan do we violate their children?

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Oct 8,2008 4:08pm
These guys should really be prosecuted...isnt that some kind of tax fraud???
They probably have some clause in the bailout plan bill that protects them from prosecution or some bullshit. Man, sometimes I feel bad about not following politics as much as i should, but its only because every time I try and keep up with it, all I find out is awful shit about the country that I could have done without knowing anyway because there's nothing that can be done to change it.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Oct 8,2008 4:11pm
i don't think there are any stipulations to what the companies do with the money, only how and to whom the money is allocated by henry paulson.

did i mention that he's hiring private contractors to distribute the $700B to different companies?

The madness is that they want to supposedely lend this money back to us with interest.... the money that our taxes are going to pay for, and these DUCHE bags go on vacation.

you mean the whole "bailout" proposal? I am sure you can get it. The "lending to us with interest" thing will not be. Be here's how it works. The MAIN reason it's so important to help these companies, is because these are the companies that give small business loans to other companies. Loans that pay payroll, loans that cover rent, supplies, pretty much all the overhead small businesses face. So without the bailout, companies all over the place will just not be able to pay employees, won't have rent, won't be able to buy the supplies they need to run their business. Not because they aren't doing well, but because in todays day and age when businesses start they take for granted that if they do well, and they can prove they are doing well, they WILL be able to get small short term loans to handle all these expenses. Now that the companies that handle all those small loans were SOO irresponsible, our tax money is going to help them, otherwise businesses all accross america would fail. And these big companies that we are helping....

WILL MAKE PROFIT ON ALL THESE LOANS.

as if it's all a great big deal that they negotiated with an overseas client. All the familys of these big companies HAVE to be rejoicing about the big "deal" they signed. Bullshit.

understood, but it should be guaranteed do to the simple fact that #1 the american public are not the ones who sent us into this downward spiral, it was your typically irresponsible CEOs who thought the housing market was a bottomless pit where they could give anybody loans(that didn't deserve it) collect whatever $$ those families could afford only to turn around and foreclose/repossess the properties and try to resell...and @ long last #2, giving any profits back to the tax payers could only stimulate this stagnant economy.
