Happened to me the other night. Did a rap show at the Western Front and asked a girl who was watching a performance if she wanted a cd. She said no, I says it free, she still says no. My response was "you're at a rap music show and you don't want a rap cd? That's weird." Even if I don't listen to it ill at least humor someone and take 1.

I've gotten plenty of awesome CDs for free. There are definitely a lot of shitty free CDs, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to spread the word...it's called promotion. Like Nobody Cares said, I'll humor someone even if I know they aren't my cup of tea. If I know they're complete wastes of life, then I won't bother...that only happened in one or two cases so far though.

Listening to peoples shitty free cds can also be funny or a reminder of how awesome you are. I met a dude at O'Briens, he was this Lebanese dude in his late 30's or older. He gave me a cd along with a card for a limo company. His name was the Rhymeboss. I played the cd and it was him rapping over techno/house music. Some of the most awkward shit I've ever heard. I always wanted to call the number and roll to shows in a limo.

i always take the cd and give it a try. blue gave one to me at metal fest 3 years ago i think and i found my favorite. ma death metal band. another time i got a free in dire need cd which was also awesome. i think that its always worth listening to. more times than not though it sucks.

Meh... It is possible to refuse a free CD without being a jerk about it. I mean, it's really not necessary to be a jerk when someone is trying to give you free stuff. All you have to say is, "No thanks" or, "Sorry, I don't have enough room in my pockets. I don't want to lug around a bunch of crap all night".

What is really annoying is when you have some free CDs out on a table... you're not even handing them out... and people take them like they think it's great. Then, you find a bunch of those free CDs all over the floor later on. Why bother taking it if you don't want it? It costs money to put that crap together.
