They don't come with 1.8, but it's an easy swap. Not to mention those cars pictured come with either the 1.5 or the 1.6, which is still available with V-tech. Only difference is the 1.8 is DOHC, the 1.5 and 1.6 are SOHC, and if you really wanted V-tech but didn't feel like doing a whole swap, just swap the head, computer and solenoid. It's really only about a half a days work.

But, what I really wanted to say is yes, those cars did come with a v-tech option.

And all that work doesn't change the fact that you're driving a woman's car.

True, but you can do plenty of upgrades to turn it into a 10 second or less car. Trust me, I used to doubt it until I've seen it.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Mar 2,2008 3:46pm
yeah you can make it a 10 second car but it costs twice as much as a V8, so why do that? im well aware of all the swaps you can do with the civics/spictegras... b16, b18, k20... turbo and all that crap. its common. a really common swap is the LS block from a spictegra with the head from the other model. then turbo that. light cars + more hp = faster.

i AM aware that those cars could have came with vtech, im pretty sure that last one is vtech, but whats the point when you're SOHC'n it? granted i cant really say much as i own a Merkur XR4Ti and had a pretty fast one before this one, they are SOHC engines... but they are 2.3 turbo and can crank out more power with much less work and the block can support over 1000 hp (thats at the wheels).

PS. SWEET CATBACK EXHAUST AND WHITE TAILLIGHTS D00D. that rear spoiler on a FWD car really helps with the ultimate driftz gai. you know... all that downforze for the rear is totally neccesary... you know, because when vtech kicks in, at like 5000 rpm, you're gonna need that grip for your rear wheels...

Well, I'm a big musclecar guy myself, but really I'm just a car guy so I like anything that's clean and not ridiculous looking (like those three pictures above), and spoilers are fwd vehicles are in fact stupid and pointless.

I must add one car to your good jap cars list, and that's the prelude. I drive a 97 Acura 2.2CL, with the 2.2L SOHC V-tec engine. I'm replacing the clutch soon because it's slipping and I still need to be able to drive it, but I am soon going to get the 2.2L DOHC out of a prelude and drop it in after a whole bunch of upgrades. It's a direct drop so it will work fine, and I'm the kind of guy that says if you're gonna do something do it right.

fwd does not count as a good car (performance wise)... although i DID list the FTO, but that car is the only exception (even though it is only decent). if FWD was awesome for a performance car, you would see Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lotus, Porsche, BMW, and countless other people that make one off sports cars, making them with FWD. its pretty cool actually, a lot of companies are starting to make RWD cars again. i love it.

yea RWD FTW
