The North Carolina-based band have finished recording their new full-length album, and first for Season of Mist, with their long-time engineer Steve Albini (HIGH ON FIRE, NEUROSIS, NIRVANA, HELMET, and more).

WEEDEATER was formed by front-man/bassist "Dixie" Dave Collins. Following the release of their 21 debut ‘…And Justice For Y’All’, WEEDEATER immediately established themselves as a force in the U.S. tour circuit and quickly gained notoriety in the American metal scene. In the time since, the band have released three critically-acclaimed albums: 'Sixteen Tons’ (22), ‘God Luck And Good Speed’ (27), and ‘Jason… The Dragon’ (211), and toured around the world with the likes of DOWN, SAINT VITUS, HIGH ON FIRE, and THE MELVINS, HANK III, EARTH, SUNN O))) and more. The band has played prestigious festivals such as Maryland Deathfest, Hopscotch Festival, Stoned From The Underground, Asymmetry Festival, Roadburn Festival, Hellfest, and many more.

I love how not even Aaron bothers posting shows on the events page anymore.

What's the point? This may as well be the King Thunderstool/"Duncan owes me $18" forum now.

Yeah there are more posts about wanting to kill me and/or Samantha than there are about shows these days.

I haven't updated the shot listings page for years. It was magically getting filled for a long time... and it was Wren. But if a show isn't on the events page, I'm probably not going to it.

Tonight!

Rev, will we be seeing you tonight?

I still need to figure out if I need to get on a list or anything. the waterfront is always one of those places I just walk into cause the staff knows me, but yes I'm planning on being there. Regardless, this show will be late for me since it's a 2hr drive to my house.

rev, i'll talk to gulow to make sure you're good. hang on. john and i should be doing door so it won't be an issue. it's in the hall, so don't enter barside.

ok, you're all set rev. just check in with gulow when you get there.

Made it just in time for faces. They didn't play any songs I knew, but it had been a long time since I saw them.

Weird being at the waterfront with out Scott Lee, etc.

Razamov slayed.

Lazer/wulf was cool, but it reminded me of 2004.

Full of Hell was just awesome. Quick set is a good set.

Overall excellent show

Rozamov's incorporation of the fast paced passages in the new stuff was killer

It might have been the echoy hall, but they sounded a bit like Death in the way that Mobus Chon sounds like Death.

video quality for a show- 10/10. audio 2/10. does your DSLR have an onboard attenuator? (not even grilling you, i work in video so i struggle with audio quality every day of my life)

toggletoggle post by TimRiley at Nov 13,2014 10:15pm
i'll ask robo if he recorded this gig on the board. if he did (which i wouldn't be surprised) i'll sync the audio to your video via fcpx.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 14,2014 5:10am
oh I usually post that about the audio. If I connect a condensing mic, the should is pretty awesome. The problem is that I was across the stage from my bag and the condensing mic I have has a really long cord so I don't like to keep it in my pocket unless I have on cargo shorts.
