The role of the government and military has changed since WWII. I'm all about that generation and grew up in a military family, but I do not like a government that's runs and hides from the truth.

You can't talk about national pride and then say it's full of crybabies. This IS your nation, and it's not and never was your vision of what you want it to be.

Hoser you are the "Take Back America" bumper sticker. Who are we taking it back from? Americans? When did we lose it? Japanese Internment Camps? Subjugation of women and non-whites? De-regulated puppet free markets? National surveillance in 2013? True courage is in questioning the ethics of authority. King George wasn't kicked out by worshipping the altar of nationalism. It was in the economic interests of the colonial elite. You are free because the landowners in the 18th century didn't want to pay the King's tax. Syndication of this information is necessary because if a population isn't a watchdog of it's government then who will be? The world reacts to the actions of governments and it affects you as an American. Will you not ask the CIA or the NSA why it does what it does, or are you content to leave them to their own devices with your taxpayer money?

A government sidestepping it's own laws to protect itself results in what's happening in Egypt and Greece right now which I'm sure you know nothing about.
