New site? Maybe some day.
Yes. The first one was better (I feel cliche'd saying that, but it's true). But if you are into this kind of stuff in general, there's a lot to like about it. I plan to re-read the first one again in the near future, but I'm 50/50 on revisiting Judas Unchained. |
Pandor's Star? yeah, that is the one that I was thinking about starting with. |
If you've got the time, I give it a solid recommendation. |
Can Black Label Society get on this ? |

I'm in the middle of Pandora's Star now and enjoying it. Technically written sci-fi, I dig and recommend. |
I'm reading it on my Kindle. |
I'm reading it on my Kindle. |
SON I AM DISAPPOINT |
It just a machine that lets you read books, thereby I have deemed it "not that gay". |
LICK FINGERS TO TURN PAGES OR FALSE |
NICE TRY ARIL.
Am I doin' it rite? |
I'm thinking of trying that.. but digital books are still more pricey than paperbacks. |
You can find almost all e books free on soulseek |
the kindle is amazing. i got a used e-ink one for $50 and downloaded torrents and torrents of a billion books. i read for hours on the thing and i have not bought a single digital book. |

MUSTY PAGES AND BROKEN SPINES OR SPENCE |
LOL.
To Aaron, I don't think they're more pricey than paperbacks. Plus you can get a ton of shit free.
I have the regular old non-backlit Kindle and I love it. Doesn't hurt your eyes like a computer screen and the cover has this handy little light thing so you can read in the dark.
Hey I can appreciate books, I've been in commercial printing for almost 17 years and love the smell of offset ink. But there's only so much room for crap. And I need room for moar guns and moar ammo... |

MUSTY PAGES AND BROKEN SPINES OR SPENCE |
Off subject, I just did shoulder presses with the equivalent of a Spence in each hand. |
Kinles are great if you have to travel. I like that I can read pdf files on it for my research. The best part? It fits perfectly in the pocket of my Jnco's |
Too bad the average jnco wearer doesn't read. Otherwise, they would understand how magnets worked. |
You're reading Pandora's Star, right? I'm about halfway through and totally into it. Print version is 992 pages, there's quite a bit going on. |
I'm a wicked slow reader. It says 33hrs left in the book. I saw that the paperback was 992 and almost didn't start reading it. Also, that prologue was awesome because it didn't really matter and got me focused on reading and not letting my mind wonder off. |
The book has a ton of technical details that I prefer not to skim over, so for me it's not a quick read either. |
I think I'm going to sit outside and read at lunch today. |
50% through. I really hate when they go back to Paula Myo. I hope all that crap is linked back to something other than just Adam and there is a reason for me reading the court stuff when there is just hardcore nerdery that I'm supposed to be enjoying. |
I had taken a break, but picked it back up last night. 75% through. |
51%. I love all the geekiness. |
Anyone I've seen thus far just has OC Tattoos. I don't get the best impression of how OC Tattoos look. I just dislike Paula Myo |
Dude you started it 2 years ago. |
yeah, read 40% in the past few weeks. I'm a slow reader. I started right into Judas Cradle. This was like almost 1000 pages! |
25% through Judas Cradle. The writing in the sex scene is awful.... |
I ended up re-reading the first a few months after this thread was started. It was about as good as I remembered. |
