DANZIG frontman Glenn Danzig allegedly got into a scuffle with NORTH SIDE KINGS singer and frequent SOULFLY collaborator Danny Marianinho following DANZIG's performance in Tuba City, Arizona Saturday night (July 3). The following is Marianinho's official statement regarding the incident, as sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"Before crazy rumors begin to spread I would like to explain what happened:
"NORTH SIDE KINGS were to play with DANZIG last night in Tuba City, Arizona. To make a long story short the whole show was a disaster and a few bands got bumped off. Mr. Danzig (or his management??) refused to push back the original scheduled time slot so NORTH SIDE KINGS and RAPID FIRE would have to play 'after' his set. Whatever — we agreed to play later because we drove 6 hours and didn't feel like going home without playing.
"Needless to say, as soon as DANZIG was finished, the venue turned on the lights and DANZIG's crew and the staging company began to take the stage apart almost instantly. I confronted Mr. Danzig backstage while he was signing autographs and told him I thought he was an asshole because of his 'rock star' attitude and no consideration towards the FEW other bands that got bumped off tonight. In a fit of rage he turned around and slammed me into the wall yelling 'Fuck you, motherfucker,' trying to be a big, tough guy in front of his fans. I, in self-defense, punched him in the face, knocking him out as he was attacking me again. He went down, bleeding from his mouth, eyes rolled back, and in shock that he got knocked to the floor so quickly.
"A friend happened to tape the entire incident and this is all documented. Many witnesses saw him attack me, and I did what any man would do.
"It was unfortunate that this went the way it did — and I hoped Glenn Danzig learned a valuable lesson tonight: Do not lay your hands on anyone unless you can handle what may happen.
"I apologize for nothing, except for the poor little kids that had to witness this big asshole get his ass kicked in a matter of seconds..."

Thats great...love the misfits..hate danzigs solo career. But I have seen interviews of him and he is a rock star asshole...and real corny...always tryin to be so evil...Im glad he got a slappin.

I was listening to All Hell Breaks Loose today and I remember a death metal band covers this song. Does anybody remember the band? I know for a fact I heard it with cookie monster vocals before.
There is an old European saying and it goes like this... "Do right and fear nothing"... Obviosly his ego got in the way and that's why he got knocked the fuck out!

Danny mentioned "Don't lay your hands on anyone, unless you can handle what happened. What Danny said was just words. People say words with each other all the time when anger arises......That doesn't give anyone the right to attack someone. Glenn deserved every bit of it 10 fold, attacking someone who just said something....who the fuck cares if he said something....BLOW IT THE FUCK OFF!!! Especially, he was tearing down the stage before these guys were supposed to play....If you ask me, Glenn deserved to get bitched at....SEVERELY, thinking he can do WHATEVER he wants WHEN he wants....whatever....in shorter words....keep your hands to your bloody bitch ass self and don't be pushin or hittin anyone...take the words and suck it up!!!!

I would have not done anything out of respect for who he is - this includes arguing with him over something idiotic.
Just saying though- that split second after the shove.. The man had a choice to hit a legend or back down. Obviously his tough guy mentality superseded his conscious thought.
I've been to shows where the "promoter" too the PA and left after his band played, leaving the other bands to eat shit. Danzig or not, it's a shitty move and I don't blame anyone for being mad enough to hit someone.
If you were in the same situation (him aggresively shoving you), would you hit Danzig?
Or would you sit back out of respect for who he is?
who cares who the fuck he is? it was a bullshit dickhead move and he deserved to get his face punched in. no one has the right, regardless of who they are, to shove someone like that. you can tell by the way he (Danzig) shoves him and yells "FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER" that he was only doing it so his gay fans could jerk off over it.
on a side note, i fucking hate anything Danzig has ever done, and this video makes me a happy panda.

If you notice right after it happens and the camera gets refocused, he gets up with the help of one person grabbing his arm, so he clearly couldn't have been knocked out.

What do you mean midwestern? By the time you get to 495 that's how shit is, look at Worcester or Springfield if you need examples of dated tough guy garbage.
Also Danzig has never been guilty of being a "frequent Soulfly collaborator."

I like danzig's band but the man himself is a douchebag and i was thrilled the day that video came out. its the same thing as me liking GnR but id still love to see Axl get his ass beat. Particularly by Vince Neal.

Nothing against Danzig's musical accomplishments, but if you shove me that hard, chances are I will hit you back as hard as I can. So yeah, I'd pop him one, Danzig or not.
The other guy is still a fag for collaborating with Soulfly.

I don't understand any of the people who claim Danzig was sucker punched, he pushed the guy first, it's not like he came out of nowhere and hit Danzig.
Regardless, that dudes band is yuck and the 15 minutes from this were up long ago.
