ok who here has gone in for jury duty before?
i was supposed to have it tomorrow but it was canceled and i need to lie to my boss so i can still have the day off tomorrow.

sooo how long does it usually take and what is the process like? ive only ever been to court on the OTHER side of things... i need a synopsis of what happens during the selection process because said boss has done jury duty before and if i just make up random shit he'll know.
so, give me your stories, the more details the better, esp if you served at lowell superior court.

so i basically tell him the trial was held in a bio-dome and the DA had nice "cones"?

toggletoggle post by illinoisenemaBradness at Nov 26,2012 9:23pm

toggletoggle post by slar you morbid? at Nov 26,2012 9:25pm

Last time was in Boston. Sat around for a few hours waiting them to call our names. Then went inside a court room where the judge explained the case and read the names of everyone involved in the case. Then asked us each individually if we knew any of the names called. I said no. He asked if I had any strong feelings about the case. I said Yes. He dismissed me.

Then I sat around for a few more hours to see if another case needed more jurors, which didn't happen and then I went home at like 5.

I have been called a few times, I never got picked to serve on a jury. Basically I sat around for a few hours then was sent home around 12. They do make you watch a video and stuff. I have only been to Worcester and Cambridge courts.

Holy fuck no. I've been married for 10 years, but the kid thing isn't for us. I even got snipped several years ago just to make sure.

i was seated on a home invasion/rape case a few yers ago in Dedham Dist Ct. After being brought to the main courtroom to be interviewed by the judge and both attourneys, we were adjourned to a waiting room beside the main coutroom and while we waited the defendant stabbed his court appointed lawyer with a piece of sharpened plexiglass. Court Adjourned!

Got home in time to catch it all on the news.

Nice. Summoned 3 times. I got called to be on once and right before being seated, the da asked about my brother. Then dismissed me for conflict of interest cause he was the da against my brother once.
