more contact, yes, except unlike in soccer you can't push players on the ball, cross their torso, or slide. bigger people, usually, unless we're talking about centrebacks and tall strikers/headers, or the fat evil villain maradona. if we're talking strictly in potential for injury, with hockey, rugby, and football on top, soccer is only slightly below rugby, basketball being below that...just my guess. i can only speak to soccer season injuries and there are a LOT at any given time, and players returning from injury usually have to adjust their play style (fernando torres hamstring comes to mind)

I think if you take illegal contact out of the equation, basketball doesn't have as much contact as soccer. When I played soccer, there was tons of shoving, full speed collisions, slide tackles resulting in eating the field. Honestly, I feel like the whole premise of basketball just doesn't work for me. It's not difficult to score points; teams score up to like 120 every game. I like games where it's difficult to score.

Depending on how you look at it, anything can have limits. But there are no OFFICIAL governing rules, playing methods, or competition, in music (or BMX).

Basketball players get hurt all the time. It's a rough-house trying to grab a rebound when there's a bunch of 6'8'' 240lb people in your way. soccer is also injury-prone. Arguing which sport has more injuries is a joke. All sports have their share of injuries. I broke my finger, severely sprained my ankle and had a major concussion in highschool basketball, it's not a fairy sport. Hockey is brutal because hits are welcome.

I see music theory as defining different elements of music in words and numbers. If we didn't communicate with words and numbers, music theory as we know it might not exist at all.

But if you look at it as a set of rules, it's not like you're risking losing the game or getting benched for going against them.

Also, the whole notion of having rules limiting freedom is fucking stupid. That's like saying it's okay to not cite sources on an exam paper. excelling within bounds is.more challenging than having no bounds. Music is different, but yea; that argument is dumb as fuck.

of course, in basketball contact isn't really encouraged unless if you're screening/posting up. doesn't make it less injury prone
