Why they are streaming Edguy, Amon Amarth, Unearth, Dark Funeral, etc. instead of D.R.I., Electric Wizard, Gamma Ray, Manticora, Kylesa, Sanctuary, etc. I don't know. I guess they know the worst bands will have the most viewers.

I like overkill but a lot of the good acts are not being streamed of course..:P

I like Hammerfalls first 2 albums. Cheesy as hell, but fun listens.

I've been listening to them since I was like eight, I thought Legacy of The Kings was the most badass album in the world when I was prepubescent. haha

I remember getting their first album when it came out because I wanted to hear Jesper Stromblad on drums.

My brother Dylan, a good eight years older than me, was super into bands like Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Manowar, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, Nocturnal Rites, etc. when he was a teenager / when I was a kid.

So naturally I was a copycat and only really listened to that kind of stuff until I was about 13.

Funny thing is now he only listens to folk, shoegaze and indie/dream pop - pretty sure he hates all metal now more or less. Whereas I listen to more metal than any other genre, despite liking a ton of music.

Pick up a guitar, you should.

Also, did the singer really just say one of the members was being filled in because said musician was home giving birth? Obviously the singer meant to say said musician's wife/girlfriend was giving birth, but still a funny fuckup nonetheless.

The lineup's obviously not complete, but this selection, in combination with the fact that this is being streamed by the main/public TV station for North Germany, should indicate why I'm not there. The weather looks great, not raining and not as dusty as last year, but at present I'd rather be soaking wet at Party.San than dry at Wacken.

So Hammerfall and Overkill were both pretty cool. I didn't realize Hammerfall were going on a hiatus after the summer until 2014, oh well.

I have no idea who Broilers or Fateful Finality are, so i'm going to watch them to get a feel for them. I don't expect anything good, but you never know.

Broilers are actually pretty cool. I have no idea what the fuck they're saying, cause they're speaking in German, but they're pretty cool.

Some songs are kind of 90's hardcore, other songs are more like ska and others still are kind of reggae.

No metal to this at all, but still fun and surprising.

Right now they're playing a ska cover of Run to the Hills.

Also their bassist chick is kind of cute.

They skipped Fateful Finality altogether and just went to straight Unearth, ah well.

I'll tune back in for Opeth, probably, then skip all of tomorrow.

This is Germany, In Extremo is huge in Germany. Like, regular MTV rotation huge. Regular rock radio airplay huge. Definitely since Sieben came out, maybe even before that.

Trevor sounds pretty rough right now. Pretty psyched I happened to click on this right before Opeth.
