New site? Maybe some day.

Jesus fucking Christ! So many tours lately that would have easily hit New England 6 or 7 years ago are now giving us the cold shoulder. I remember back in either 2004 or 2005, Metal Church and Overkill played a show together in Worcester.
If that same tour happened now, it likely wouldn't come any closer than New York City.
But I mean look at the bands that haven't played in New England lately that would probably bring in a decent amount of people. Here are just a few examples of bands that toured in the last year or so and had no shows here...
Saxon
Onslaught
Sanctuary
Morbid Saint
Whiplash
Diamond Head
...and several more I can't think of off the top of my head right now.
Now I think if they had a better promoter and tried to book decent bands, we'd probably have some pretty badass shows coming around. Who agrees? |
|
agreed, now go promote and stop whinning on a message board |
|
or have them play the multitude of better venues in the area. I mean, a number of those bands probably wouldn't be able to fill the Palladium (as much as we'd love them to). Actually Morbid Saint would do well at Ralphs. |
|
They also need a new staff, sound system, and patrons. Hmm... This might not be as easy as we thought. |
|
I read that the Sanctuary show in IL was very underattended. It seems to me that initial run of dates was a "who still remembers us" experiment. That said I could certainly see them stopping by upstairs once they have a new album to promote. Hopefully without an entourage of Blackguard, Swashbuckle, Mutiny Within, and Powerglove in tow. |
|
Onslaught and Whiplash too (at Ralphs) |
|
in that case, Sanctuary at Ralphs would be awesome! |
|
the current non-Scott Lee promoter for the local stuff has at least been fair. He just kinda sucks at putting shows together and doesnt seem to understand what bands work well together on shows. also still hate selling tickets. as for the national acts? thats a fairly piss poor situation as well. |
|

I was going to say the same thing.
Burn the motherfucker down and start over, cause the shit ain't working. |

I would've loved to see a bunch of those bands come through. But don't kid yourself, most of those bands wouldn't draw nearly enough to warrant being booked at the Palladium. |
|
Can we please just go back to using the jaws of life to cram Diecast and/or Year of Our Lord onto every single show no matter how stupid it was? You know... the good old days? |
|
Remember when Carcass played The Boston Garden on the Heartwork tour? Shit was dope. |

Ugh. I constantly pester their old bassist about this every time I see him. He'll probably beat me with a stick one of these days. |

Classic times, I won a contest on Matty in the Morning (back when he played Mortuary Drape) and won a bunch of paint and the chance to see that show from the pressbox with Vladimir Ruziscka |
|
No 1 cares about old scool metal or trve metal as you would call it and no oen cares to book shity old washed up old news bands at the paladium or anywere else. go get high on metal and complain on a message board filled with faggots who care |

Hey now. I'm okay with Swashbuckle and/or Powerglove being thrown on tour packages. Any excuse to hang out with those guys. |

Fine, no need to subject the rest of us to it, though. |
|
i never want to see blackguard again, but they play here more than goatwhore. |
|
Off topic, but does anyone want to see Skyforger? I can email their agent and see what they want. Fuck the palladium. |

Jim, Jim, Jim, the proper protocol is to wait until someone actually does the legwork and books them, then throw up a half-assed poll on the day the real show is announced asking if anyone wants additional dates. Bonus points if it's on a Tuesday. |

Fuck Swashbuckle. They're just a horrible wanna band that thinks they're Running Wild. |

Also... the shit you listen to wouldn't exist if it wasn't for old school metal so next time, why don't you think before you start talking shit? |

We have a genius! |
|
We have a member of a generation who can't find his own culture and music so he takes the 1980's here! |
|
Heavy metal is my music. Not just my music. It's what I live and breathe. I don't even consider it 80s or old school. I think people just like to call it 80s because that was when it all started coming out.
In the words of Olof Wikstrand from Enforcer, "Heavy metal isn't old school. It's timeless."
If you have a problem with that, that's perfectly fine. I don't require anyone's approval. |

Great, you're the same age as most of my girlfriends. You are obviously a fucking genius.
What is it about 1987?? Something in the water that year. It was towards the end of the cold war. Some KGB guy must have invented "stupid juice" and injected every pregnant woman with it.
|
|
Enforcer, sweet bro. I think some of their actual records melted next to me in the fire. I wonder if your overnighter mp3s can do that. Meow meow meow |
|
anyone else think like me? |

I wonder how old these overnighters were when people were bitching about the lineup for the first New England Burnt Cat and Thursday Fest. |

Your mom clearly overdosed on it when you were in the womb! |

Yeah, I cause I made it pretty goddamn clear that I was also born in
1980-fucking-7.
Your mom clearly got a double dose of stupid juice.
