Immolation is probably the most under appreciated band in the history of death metal. I don't know how they're not considered on the same level as Morbid Angel and Suffocation by mainstream metal fans. Probably just bad management.

I think it's because their riffing and songwriting isn't mainstream death metal, and most mainstream metal fans just don't get it. Indeed a great band.

Immolation are a great band. I would love to see them locally, but loathe to have them play at one of the shitholes we mistakenly call venues in providence

Last time I saw them at Club Hell they sounded on par! No sound problems, great crowd. It kicked ass!

Agreed. They're riffs are fucking weird. Sounds like rancid diarrhea being slung from a shit catapult and landing in lake of puke and blood. Death metal fans generally like brutal (obviously) and Immolation brings that but not many other death metal bands bring that brand of bizarre mudfuck soup.

I'd totally go see Immolation if I could. I kind of wish I had made that Immolation/Vader tour a few years back, that was a solid pair of coheadliners.
