I am sure by now we all know how Ion Dissonance was refused at the border. But you may not have known that they had their Visa's to perform and record, and all their papers and whatever they were told they needed was all set.

Rudra is now experiencing difficulties, they went to the US embassy after hearing about Ion Dissonance's trouble and asked the Embassy. Apparantly there are alot of terror threats for this summer, and Rudra could be denied entry into the US at a US airport (even after they fly over with their 1,200 plane tickets, which won't be refunded).

Rudra might have to cancel the summer tour with Raising Kubrick, and instead come to America during a 'safer' time when the department of homeland security isn't trying to get press for itself.

I am going to talk to Neuraxis and Leng Tche today and see what they say about coming here, and also try to get the full story on Ion Dissonance.

More info coming soon.

That's really frustrating. Good luck to all of them...

i really don't get it..i checked out the site and read it. i've heard this happening to people but it has never happened to me before.

Sometimes it's a matter of who you get at US customs and whether or not they like the way you answer the questions, some of them also tend to judge you by your appearance. I understand that the US customs agents are working hard to make sure no terrorists enter the US, but in the process a lot of injustices occur.

I've had to deal with them A LOT...I would most definitely try to escalate the issue with US Customs and get to the bottom of it...they should try again.

this shit pisses me off. Assholes tried this a lot during the 80's, the McKaren-Walter Act (sp?) kept foreign bands out of the US for lack of "artistic merit"

Venom were on the shitlist.
Hmm--blaspheme much?

ion dissonance and half the other bands that were originally schedualed for the Maryland Death Fest all went through these problems. i think it's the main reason why the turnout was not as good as last year's

#1: i will be pissed if this affects the amount of bands playing tonight.
#2: i will be pissed if we dont have our touring partners.
#3: joe, you will be held totally responsible for all of this.
