heres my opeth story....me and my old guitarist were in my car and he put in the opeth cd. we drove from hanson to brockton and when we got to brockton it was still on the first track and they had been playing the same riff for the last 10 minutes. i'm sorry but i just can't appreciate that. i saw them at metalfest last year as well. i had worked 6 hours before i even went to the fest that day, and then I had danced all day, so Opeth was probably the worst possible band for me to see if I wanted to stay awake and not die on the way home. <br> <br>Yeah they're great musicians and all but all together it's just boring. I'm perfectly capable of appreciating styles of music that aren't focused on breakdowns and blast beats. But opeth just doesn't do anything for me, besides put me to sleep that is. To me it's like metal for people who don't like metal, I feel like I'm missing the point. If you're pissed I don't like Opeth just think of it this way, there'll be that much more room for you at the next opeth show.

haha. I like Opeth. It's long songs are great to zone out to. Though, it's very "accessible" in a lot of parts and reminds me of a modern day Deep Purple
