I chuckled heartily.

oh... no...

I will fucking kill everyone responsible if this impedes my ability to see Neurosis.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2011 4:28pm
I don't care about a single band, I care about the entire fest. WTF!

toggletoggle post by ark at May 4,2011 4:31pm
I do believe that from the start, MDF was booked at a different venue this year. Did you see that when you got tickets and booked a hotel near Sonar?

toggletoggle post by blue  at May 4,2011 4:33pm
the flyer clearly states that its being held at sonar.

toggletoggle post by blue  at May 4,2011 4:36pm
from Facebook:

Evan Harting
Yes Sonar is shutting down, and NO, MDF is not canceled. CALM DOWN.

Guess they have a backup plan or are working on it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2011 4:37pm
I'm pretty positive that Evan and Ryan would have known about this already and would already be planning for it.

toggletoggle post by blue  at May 4,2011 4:38pm
they didnt know about it, they just found out.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at May 4,2011 4:38pm
MDF Facebook says they already have an alternative site if Sonar doesn't work out

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at May 4,2011 4:39pm
....and more info is expected to be posted on Friday

GONNA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY

toggletoggle post by The_Rooster  at May 4,2011 4:39pm
"Yes, we know about Sonar. It was just brought to our attention. Please DO NOT panic. The festival will still go on as planned. If Sonar does not end up working, we already have a alternative site in the same area that would have a similar set up, so you do not need to worry, and you do not need to consider changing plans. More info about this is expected to be posted on Friday."

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at May 4,2011 4:46pm
I hope any possible replacement venue has an area to accommodate a multitude of crustlord traveler cunts. I'll be needing comedic relief in such humid, oppressive weather.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2011 4:49pm
bloody crust punk crotch!

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at May 4,2011 4:59pm
I'm sure that with the sheer number of crusties combined with the heat, you'd be able to smell them for miles.

You guys do realize there's a difference between crust fans and traveling hobo punks, right?

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at May 4,2011 5:28pm
Nae. Lines are usually blurred these days.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS should be working at May 4,2011 5:28pm
If that was directed at me, yes, I do know there's a difference. I was referring to the hobos.

Never went to MDF. Someone give me the synopsis on why this place sucked plz.

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at May 4,2011 6:05pm
It's located in Baltimore.

R.I.P. MDF

toggletoggle post by The_reverend   at May 4,2011 7:44pm
Nothing about MDF sucks. Best weekend of the whole year hands down. The first year I went, it was in a shitty venue, but was so awesome I needed to go again.

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at May 5,2011 8:12am
Was MDF III @ The House of Rock the 1st year for you?

Absolutely, if you're planning on having a shitty time then don't go!

toggletoggle post by ark at May 5,2011 2:44pm
BTW I'm too lazy to dig up proof but I swear on baby Mohammad I saw it was at a different venue than Sonar months ago when I was debating going. I think they said "it might not be at Sonar but it will be close enough"

toggletoggle post by Jack Koschick at May 5,2011 3:14pm
A gymasium separated into four stage areas by a curtain should do the trick. Easy fix.

toggletoggle post by BSV at May 5,2011 3:21pm
Sonar was sweet cuz I never received a single pat down and snuck in about 2 zips of weed and probably about a 30 rack of beer over the past 2 years. I just hated the heat inside the club and staring right into the sunset when a band was playing outside.

Cathedral, Coroner,Acid Witch and Hooded Menace could just play here in Mass instead. That would work for me.

no the line up is killer i just hate the cool guy crowd that shows up. 'im more grind than you" no your not im more grind" "i hate crusty kids" and i could count endless people there sporting the "hitler stash: trying to be the most offensive person there. its a scene fest and people go to be apart of the sceneary and not the scene.

PS ill suck your dick till it hurts buddy

Sonar will be re-opening before MDF, and technically they already have. These last couple of days have been incredibly confusing and stressful, but we are currently back to the regularly scheduled program. And don't worry, beyond plan B is a plan C, because that's how we roll. See you in a couple of weeks.

toggletoggle post by eddnli at May 7,2011 12:44pm
been going since 2006, never experienced what you're saying. I've made friends and met shit tons of great people. mdf is nothing but quality, that's why it gets the crowd. trendy? grow up, even thinking in those terms is juvenile. There is no scene, most people travel to see amazing bands they can't otherwise see.

oh and, I hate crust kids. Repulsion is the second greatest band ever just behind Impetigo.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at May 7,2011 12:57pm
complaining about anything other than the music of a particular "scene" is complete faggotry and perpetrators should kill themselves immediately. there is always going to be "that guy" or "that girl" or "those people". deal with it.

so psyched for this, my first trip to MDF, and going all 4 days. definitely relieved the venue issues seem cleared up. Saturday looks like the day of all days, in one 8 hour period I will see Cianide, Nunslaughter, Doom, Exhorder, Acid Witch, Hooded Menace and Inquisition!!

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 7,2011 1:59pm
my only complaint about this fest is that i'm too broke to make it there.

toggletoggle post by The_reverend   at May 7,2011 2:24pm
The trendy scene kids bullshit that I have seen is just people only spouting bs. Everyone I have ever talked to at the event is just there to have a good time. Inflatible animals and all. Repulsion was good, but I thought autopsy and entombed stole the show.

This year, I'm fully expecting exhoder to steal the show even though coroner is the band I'm most hyped up for.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at May 7,2011 2:54pm
I had no idea what I would think of the crowd when I went to MDF but really, it's a gathering of weird motherfuckers. There's nothing I couldn't possibly like. And like it's been said before, if you stop going to shows because of the other people who go, then you're a huge faggot and you're there for the wrong reasons.

autopsy 100% , Pentagram also, i can't wait for the DVD to come out. My bald head should be some place in there.

of all shows and festivals and gatherings in the world, if "scene kids" are a problem at MDF then you're literally out of your mind or aren't even an underground metalhead - it's that simple.

MDF last year was one of the best metal events of my life (and my first underground death metal show was in 1992), enhanced by the fact that the ratio of obvious "real heads" to "non-real heads" (<- i know that sounds dumb) was as high as you could ever hope for at any show, ever.
