Been looking foward to this for a long ass time. I am stoked. AMC comes out with the best series, and for them to take a chance on a zombie apocolypse series is superior.

"When there is no more room in hell the dead will premiere on AMC."

Good from the start and stays good.. a little more time spent on things than the comics, but makes sense due to the format.

Show is the shit, and will be faithful every week to it. Very stoked already for next week. They did great on the stenches especially the crawling zombie whore. Eating the horse was retarded, but I will let that slide. Yeah, the hookup w/ the wife cliche is typical but I am not in the least disappointed with this at all. AMC has nuts to put this out. Have to admit they know what audiences to cater too. Being stuck in the Tank must suck. Your safe, but your not. And as the kid on the radio said Hey dumbass, haha. Everyone knows you don't go into a populated city during a zombie apocolpypse. What a silly pants.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 1,2010 9:17am
I was wondering if that was his wife cause of the picture. The horse "should" have been ignored.

I don understand the tanks think since this is set in the 70's or 80's? There weren't tanks then.

Shooting a gun in a closed location is a very bad idea. But the kid on the radio would also be a dumbass since he is also in the city.

Did you guys read any of the comic? This is actually a major part of the frst story arc and sets the mood for the mood for the next few chapters..

Think about it, you're now a single mom in what could be the end of the world/zombie apocalypse.. you already trust this man because he is a close family friend.. you don't love him, but God damnit if you don't fall back on him because he is the motherfucker with a gun and he is going to do his best to keep you AND YOUR 8 YEAR OLD SON safe.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm sure this scenario is more likely than people would like to think.

I could see how it'd be cheesy if you hadn't read the comic before though.

fucking BUMMER
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/liv...-feed/walking-dead-season-two-45474

"Most Walking Dead fans know there's only six episodes in this first season. I know, the season is half finished even though it feels like it's just getting started.

But here's what you didn't know, or perhaps only feared: Sources say AMC isn't likely to launch the 13-episode second season until next October.

The reason? Fearfest. AMC's annual horror movie marathon served as a perfect promotional platform to ramp up interest for The Walking Dead, which also took advantage of the higher audience levels during the fall (something not all cable shows can pull off given the barrage of broadcast shows airing at the same time -- which is why most cable dramas run during the summer).

Plus, AMC has already pushed Breaking Bad from March to the summer, and has Mad Men airing in the summer as usual, and at some point has to squeeze in the premiere of its new original series, The Killing. Combined with Walking Dead, that's four shows to air next year, the most the network has ever had, and cable networks tend to spread out their premieres so they can properly promote each one.

Now, the October plan is not final, and there probably won't be a firm premiere date for awhile -- heck, the second season hasn't even started production yet. But the current strategy is for another October roll out.

Some silver lining: Frank Darabont is expected to write and direct another episode next year."

I wonder how that guy with one hand got all those zombies up there.

I was half asleep on the last episode. where did one handy go? was he even in the episode? Oh wait, he stole the truck right?

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Nov 24,2010 3:34pm
SPOILER ALERT:

He cut off his hand with the hacksaw, but they didn't show it. They didn't even show him after the beginning of Episode 3 on top of the building. But they do believe it was him who stole the van, though that hasn't exactly been answered yet.

I just watched again, they lost 3 people? the younger sister, the wife beater, and some random guy. I think the random guy was one of the happy people from earlier. I bet the guy that was untied a few minutes earlier was super duper happy that he wasn't hogtied when they were invaded. It had to be merril since their defenses were unhooked before the zombies were let lose.

They didn't shoot the sister in the head after she turned. How long is it going to take for her to turn?

Also, what year does this take place in. This must be a separate timeline where hilter won WWII by inventing tanks. And these zombies were the manufacture zombies from Shock Wave. Seriously, way to make a huge ass loophole in your whole story. Tanks... wtf... don't they check their details at all?

I think in the preview for the next one it show the younger sister moving her hands while laying down, hinting at a zombie formation. Not sure if it was her though. They'll shoot her at some point in the next one, they have to. Same with the wife beater that everyone wanted to shoot anyway. I couldn't tell who the other one that was killed was either. We'll see I guess.

I cannot WAIT for the Governor. at this rate it's looking like season 3 or 4.

toggletoggle post by slymoe nli at Nov 29,2010 12:10am
You already saw the Governor, it was "G" in the 3rd episode.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 29,2010 3:05am
the ending gave me chills.
highly predictable, but awesome.
What did the guy say, 120-something days since it went global?

toggletoggle post by SkinSandwich at Nov 29,2010 6:29am
Something like that about it going global. I thought he said 146 but I was tired as fuck last night. I hope they don't explain WHY it is happening. I like the "Romero" approach of not knowing how or why.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Nov 29,2010 8:17am
awesome episode. can't wait for the finale.

If you look online the show what is going on.

Last episode looks like a lot of shit is going to happen at the same time

my prediction is that the one armed red neck will find the note, track them down and then the black dude from the first episode...or his son will kill said red neck before he shoots anyone

although I feel like they might not bring back either character til next season just to keep us watching to find out.

I also feel like the new dude in the cdc will have a god complex and try to kill someone or all of them

i was very pumped for this show seeing im huge comic fan but it is really not even following the comics story anymore this last episode had nothing out of the comics except leaving the guy at the tree to die. in the comic one of these main characters is already dead as well at the pace there going to catch up with the comic they will need bout 12 seasons unless they change the whole story,

G was Guillermo. i thought i caught that too, but i highly doubt it now. The Gov's name is Phillip. Felipe was the dude that got the arrow in the ass.

I don't really mind that the story isn't exactly the same as the comic; I never expect any movie or TV show based on a book or comic to be even close to a mirror image. I appreciate the fact that the overall feel and mood of the comic is being represented in the TV show. If everything was exactly the same as the comic I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much since I'd already know what happens.

I've heard a lot of people bitching about how little action there is in the latest episode, but I think it was perfect for building suspense for the next episode. That being said, it will be disappointing if episode 6 isn't a fucking bloodbath.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Nov 29,2010 11:50pm
I like the fact that it isn't all zombie killing, and they actually take the time to display what the human emotion would be like during an cataclysmic event such as a zombie apocalypse. It makes it a lot more interesting and realistic.

As for it not following the comics, I wouldn't know because I never read the comics. However, as Mark said, it's probably better off that way because it keeps even the hardcore readers in a somewhat suspenseful level, unlike the Lord of the Rings movies (never read those books either) that apparently followed the books exactly, and everyone knew exactly what was happening and it kind of killed the story for them. Another good example is the Resident Evil movies. They didn't follow the story of the video games at all, the first one didn't even have the same characters as the first game.

Then again, the Resident Evil movies were very meh, after seeing the first two a million times. The third one sucked, and I was not a fan of Mila Jovavich's post apocalyptic biker dike haircut.

Food for thought:

A lot of eyebrows raised this week at Deadline's report that the entire writing staff of The Walking Dead had been fired from the series by executive producer Frank Darabont, as the show heads towards its second season. However, in a new interview with EW, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd says those allegations are "completely inaccurate."

Hurd says that since writing on the first, six-episode season wrapped months ago (with no guarantee of a renewal at the time), the staff have simply moved on to other projects. Says Hurd, "[In] the writers' room, there are people that have set up other projects that will be their first priority if their own series is picked up as a pilot or if it's a series."

The Deadline story specifically named Charles H. Eglee as someone let go, but Hurd says, "I think [Eglee] just decided that he wants to run his own show."

Re-assembling most of the key participants from Season 1 may be difficult. Discussing makeup effects creator Greg Nicotero, who created the zombie makeup for the first season, Hurd says, "We certainly hope he'll be back. As with everything, it's subject to availability." Hurd did confirm the principal cast members are all signed for multiple seasons and reiterated reports that Season 2 will likely debut next October. She also says Darabont and Walking Dead comic book creator Robert Kirkman will likely meet early next year to begin mapping out Season 2.
