New site? Maybe some day.
Been looking foward to this for a long ass time. I am stoked. AMC comes out with the best series, and for them to take a chance on a zombie apocolypse series is superior.
"When there is no more room in hell the dead will premiere on AMC." |
THIS.
Also I wish I had cable. |
yuh really hoping this is good, Mad Men and Breaking Bad are great |
trailers look excellent and seem to follow the comic right on |

Good from the start and stays good.. a little more time spent on things than the comics, but makes sense due to the format.
Stoked for episode 2. |

A fucking plus. That was seriously awesome. |

oh noes.... ZOMBIE HORSE!!!! |
I am kind of sad they pulled the wife thinks husband is dead and thus gets together with husband's friend cliche
Though I do like the crawling zombie, they're some of the scariest. |

Show is the shit, and will be faithful every week to it. Very stoked already for next week. They did great on the stenches especially the crawling zombie whore. Eating the horse was retarded, but I will let that slide. Yeah, the hookup w/ the wife cliche is typical but I am not in the least disappointed with this at all. AMC has nuts to put this out. Have to admit they know what audiences to cater too. Being stuck in the Tank must suck. Your safe, but your not. And as the kid on the radio said Hey dumbass, haha. Everyone knows you don't go into a populated city during a zombie apocolpypse. What a silly pants. |
I was wondering if that was his wife cause of the picture. The horse "should" have been ignored.
I don understand the tanks think since this is set in the 70's or 80's? There weren't tanks then.
Shooting a gun in a closed location is a very bad idea. But the kid on the radio would also be a dumbass since he is also in the city. |

Did you guys read any of the comic? This is actually a major part of the frst story arc and sets the mood for the mood for the next few chapters..
Think about it, you're now a single mom in what could be the end of the world/zombie apocalypse.. you already trust this man because he is a close family friend.. you don't love him, but God damnit if you don't fall back on him because he is the motherfucker with a gun and he is going to do his best to keep you AND YOUR 8 YEAR OLD SON safe.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm sure this scenario is more likely than people would like to think.
I could see how it'd be cheesy if you hadn't read the comic before though. |
I think that women should always fall back on their vaginas to keep themsafe. |
Aaron, who is your best friend and what does he do? |
I don't think I have to worry about carina leaving me for either of my dogs or either of my cats. |
I love that they're sticking to the comic. It is good the way it is. |

Tanks were invented during the first world war by the british. The kid isn't dumb, he's in the city for a reason.
This show might be too grown-up for you. Back to Heroes? |

tanks in WWI? bwhahahaha, you obviously drank the kool-aid and believe those terrible photoshops. didn't you hear, jesus road a tank
that would make an excellent xmas card. |
and I was pointing out that mr sammich said only silly pants or dumbass would be in the city during a zombie apocalypse. If the kid is able to see him, then he is also in the city during a zombie apocalypse and heretofore is a silly pants and possibly a dumbass.
Funny you bring up heroes cause I juts told someone that this show will finally take up the place of lost for more. He was my Heroes buddy and brought up heroes. I just made sure that I had all 4 seasons of heroes to watch since I stopped watching somewhere in the 3rd season. |
I think AMC is going to try and play catch-up to FX and turn out more good shit...cable TV is getting kind of awesome again. |
will watch tonight OnDemand woot. |
and just when I was going to cancel cable. |
Watching this now with the graphic novels in hand to compare/contrast. Excellent work. |
they did a real good job i think! i cant wait to see more!!!! |
First episode was pretty cool. |
Gotta see if this is on demand, last summer I was staying with some friends and spent about 4 hours reading the comics instead of interacting with my hosts like a functioning adult. |
cant get over how this show is so inline with comic if this shit keeps up it will best show on telvision by far,i've read every issue of the comic since 1st issue, it kinda of sucks knowing whats gonna happen i envy you who havent read the comic and are watchin this and seein this story for the firtst time, you will be hooked |
I personally suggest reating the comic.. makes for a better appreciation for things.. at least that is my experience with other comic book to tv/movie deals |
Nobody tells me what to reat. |
just watched it....pretty awesome |
problem is now I can't go out and buy the comics or I will be "that-guy" I waited like two years to let the heat cool down before I started to buy Hellboy comics
I just feel like a douche if I go out and buy the merchandise for something that is "in" or "big" at that point in time. That being said I will eventually buy the walking dead novels at some point in the near future. Too busy with BPRD at the moment |
new fav show. really good so far. |

they've said it will deviate somewhat, but not by much. They don't want to bore the fans who read the series. |

HUH... WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS PLOT BEFORE... OH YEAH, EVERY SINGLE OTHER ZOMBIE MOVIE. |
But you still like it. |
i watched the first episode last night..will watch ep 2 tonight... The show was a little slow paced but i guess thats part of the vibe. The makeup/gore/fx were brilliant... Hows he gonna get out of that tank???? |
Can't wait for the white supremacist to show up later in the series and have an epic duel with d'lo brown. |
Anyone know if this is following the plotline of the comic book? |
its kind of following comic a few added characters and shit but i guess for tv but all in all follows story well, if u dont hate his wife by now oh just want shes a major cunt, its a slow comic and the show is slow but when shit happens its all worth it |
ya can we hold back on spoilers from the people who've read the comic? |
this was in the funny pages? |
Yes, this is an ongoing comic book. |
Comic book is excellent. Ranks up there with the better ones I've read in recent years. |
Spoiler alert: milk is not to be left out for extended periods of time |

Did you get an advanced copy? I thought the comic wasn't out yet. |

The resourceful asian kid is a good character. Appreciated. I would want a resourceful asian kid during a zombie apocolypse too. |
fell asleep before i could watch ep 2...def watching tonight |
I either need to stop going on facebook, or you need to make something where we can "like" people comments, because I was seriously just about to "like" this comment. My vote is to stop going on facebook though.
Episode two was great. I know it's not gonna happen, but I wish that old racist dude would never get off that building and the zombies find a way to break through the chain and |
*make a thanksgiving feast out of him. |
Do rednecks taste like cinnomin? |
No, but they do taste an awful lot like cinnamon. |
fell asleep before i could watch ep 2...def watching tonight |

picked up for season 2. word! |
Tonight. you.
I am actually excited to see how tonight's episode plays out, I'm expecting a lot of fisticuffs. |
Homework is almost done, will be on time for this. Even if it's not, it'll have to wait so I can see this. I know my priorities. |
Will be downloading tomorrow for sure.. might not watch until Tuesday due to Bloody Panda |
Next weeks episode is written by Robert kirkman |
I'm watching it live tonight for the first time. |
take pictures or it didn't happen |
it was way too quick for that to already have happened. |
tampon commercial or what? |
full flow tampon commercial |
"when you are killing zombies... do you ever get that not-so-fresh feeling?" |
finally watched episode 2...the white power dude sucked...such a cliche tough guy character. |
He'll be back -- he definitely just hacksawed off his hand to get out of the cuffs. Definitely a cliche character, but overall the series is cool. |
Starting to feel like every scene in this show is an homage to another horror movie...can't say it's a bad thing. |
it was way too quick for that to already have happened. |
I'd agree if the season was gonna be longer than six episodes, but they gotta keep it short.
Episode was a little on the slower side and not as gory as the others, but was still good. |
short season is short. lame |
It's ok, it was picked up for a second season which should apparently be longer. |
fucking BUMMER
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/liv...-feed/walking-dead-season-two-45474
"Most Walking Dead fans know there's only six episodes in this first season. I know, the season is half finished even though it feels like it's just getting started.
But here's what you didn't know, or perhaps only feared: Sources say AMC isn't likely to launch the 13-episode second season until next October.
The reason? Fearfest. AMC's annual horror movie marathon served as a perfect promotional platform to ramp up interest for The Walking Dead, which also took advantage of the higher audience levels during the fall (something not all cable shows can pull off given the barrage of broadcast shows airing at the same time -- which is why most cable dramas run during the summer).
Plus, AMC has already pushed Breaking Bad from March to the summer, and has Mad Men airing in the summer as usual, and at some point has to squeeze in the premiere of its new original series, The Killing. Combined with Walking Dead, that's four shows to air next year, the most the network has ever had, and cable networks tend to spread out their premieres so they can properly promote each one.
Now, the October plan is not final, and there probably won't be a firm premiere date for awhile -- heck, the second season hasn't even started production yet. But the current strategy is for another October roll out.
Some silver lining: Frank Darabont is expected to write and direct another episode next year." |
Episode four tonight. Pretty stoked. I wonder how long until the season is on DVD? |
I still haven't seen episode 3 and haven't found a torrent.. Woe is me :( |
If you have on demand it's on there. |
I will have to wait until I get back from this show and then get laid and I'm not even joking. |
OK, half of that is a complete lie. |
last ten minutes it turned into left for dead, wonder if it shut up all the cry babies about there not being enough zombie killing |
this one starts out with another fucking tampon commercial. |

i really like that its not all zombie killing.. theres alot more character building akin to Zombieland so you its more brutal when the people die because you gain more of an attachment to them. |
I'm pretty glad that other white trash dude that Shane fucked up was killed. Pretty upset that the hot bitch was killed though.
I'd do her anyway. |
I wonder how that guy with one hand got all those zombies up there. |

"Only merril can kill merril" |

I wonder how that guy with one hand got all those zombies up there. |
I was half asleep on the last episode. where did one handy go? was he even in the episode? Oh wait, he stole the truck right? |
SPOILER ALERT:
He cut off his hand with the hacksaw, but they didn't show it. They didn't even show him after the beginning of Episode 3 on top of the building. But they do believe it was him who stole the van, though that hasn't exactly been answered yet. |
I just watched again, they lost 3 people? the younger sister, the wife beater, and some random guy. I think the random guy was one of the happy people from earlier. I bet the guy that was untied a few minutes earlier was super duper happy that he wasn't hogtied when they were invaded. It had to be merril since their defenses were unhooked before the zombies were let lose.
They didn't shoot the sister in the head after she turned. How long is it going to take for her to turn?
Also, what year does this take place in. This must be a separate timeline where hilter won WWII by inventing tanks. And these zombies were the manufacture zombies from Shock Wave. Seriously, way to make a huge ass loophole in your whole story. Tanks... wtf... don't they check their details at all? |
Good show. I wished that faggot wigger kid with the pot leaf tattoo got eaten alive. |
watching ep4 right now on my sweet new tv |
"you got a doo rag or sumpthin?" |
I just read the 13th book, waiting for the newest comic from a friend. It's making it hard to be patient for shit to happen on the TV show. |
its very slow paced...barely anything happens in each episode |

I think in the preview for the next one it show the younger sister moving her hands while laying down, hinting at a zombie formation. Not sure if it was her though. They'll shoot her at some point in the next one, they have to. Same with the wife beater that everyone wanted to shoot anyway. I couldn't tell who the other one that was killed was either. We'll see I guess. |

I just read the 13th book.. |
On my to do list for today. |
New episode tonight. Fuck yeah. |

I cannot WAIT for the Governor. at this rate it's looking like season 3 or 4. |
You already saw the Governor, it was "G" in the 3rd episode. |
the ending gave me chills.
highly predictable, but awesome.
What did the guy say, 120-something days since it went global? |
Something like that about it going global. I thought he said 146 but I was tired as fuck last night. I hope they don't explain WHY it is happening. I like the "Romero" approach of not knowing how or why. |
awesome episode. can't wait for the finale. |
If you look online the show what is going on. |
Last episode looks like a lot of shit is going to happen at the same time
my prediction is that the one armed red neck will find the note, track them down and then the black dude from the first episode...or his son will kill said red neck before he shoots anyone
although I feel like they might not bring back either character til next season just to keep us watching to find out.
I also feel like the new dude in the cdc will have a god complex and try to kill someone or all of them |
i was very pumped for this show seeing im huge comic fan but it is really not even following the comics story anymore this last episode had nothing out of the comics except leaving the guy at the tree to die. in the comic one of these main characters is already dead as well at the pace there going to catch up with the comic they will need bout 12 seasons unless they change the whole story, |
You already saw the Governor, it was "G" in the 3rd episode. |
G was Guillermo. i thought i caught that too, but i highly doubt it now. The Gov's name is Phillip. Felipe was the dude that got the arrow in the ass. |
I don't really mind that the story isn't exactly the same as the comic; I never expect any movie or TV show based on a book or comic to be even close to a mirror image. I appreciate the fact that the overall feel and mood of the comic is being represented in the TV show. If everything was exactly the same as the comic I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much since I'd already know what happens.
I've heard a lot of people bitching about how little action there is in the latest episode, but I think it was perfect for building suspense for the next episode. That being said, it will be disappointing if episode 6 isn't a fucking bloodbath. |
I like the fact that it isn't all zombie killing, and they actually take the time to display what the human emotion would be like during an cataclysmic event such as a zombie apocalypse. It makes it a lot more interesting and realistic.
As for it not following the comics, I wouldn't know because I never read the comics. However, as Mark said, it's probably better off that way because it keeps even the hardcore readers in a somewhat suspenseful level, unlike the Lord of the Rings movies (never read those books either) that apparently followed the books exactly, and everyone knew exactly what was happening and it kind of killed the story for them. Another good example is the Resident Evil movies. They didn't follow the story of the video games at all, the first one didn't even have the same characters as the first game. |
Then again, the Resident Evil movies were very meh, after seeing the first two a million times. The third one sucked, and I was not a fan of Mila Jovavich's post apocalyptic biker dike haircut. |
Downloading episodes 3,4,5, right now. |

I would still titty fuck her. Err, wait, she has no tits. I would still fuck her.... |
i never expected it to follow the comics to a tee but there fucking up major parts of the story, and the cause of the zombies, its uneventful now and it will stay that way its how this story rolls it like sopranos alot of blah blah blah then some series shit happens.i'd read and wait through 4months and 5 comics for a single zombie attack.dont get me wrong i like the show but it could of been so much more if u havent read the comics go to borders n do so there way better than the show |
so wait, there is a comic based on the show? cool. |
this just in: sopranos is a lot of blah blah blah then some series shit happens. |
Food for thought:
A lot of eyebrows raised this week at Deadline's report that the entire writing staff of The Walking Dead had been fired from the series by executive producer Frank Darabont, as the show heads towards its second season. However, in a new interview with EW, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd says those allegations are "completely inaccurate."
Hurd says that since writing on the first, six-episode season wrapped months ago (with no guarantee of a renewal at the time), the staff have simply moved on to other projects. Says Hurd, "[In] the writers' room, there are people that have set up other projects that will be their first priority if their own series is picked up as a pilot or if it's a series."
The Deadline story specifically named Charles H. Eglee as someone let go, but Hurd says, "I think [Eglee] just decided that he wants to run his own show."
Re-assembling most of the key participants from Season 1 may be difficult. Discussing makeup effects creator Greg Nicotero, who created the zombie makeup for the first season, Hurd says, "We certainly hope he'll be back. As with everything, it's subject to availability." Hurd did confirm the principal cast members are all signed for multiple seasons and reiterated reports that Season 2 will likely debut next October. She also says Darabont and Walking Dead comic book creator Robert Kirkman will likely meet early next year to begin mapping out Season 2.
