CMJ is creeping up fast and I’m sure everyone is excited for the madness that will ensue. The “Underground Metal, Underground” Showcase/Afterparty at The Charleston in Williamsburg, Brooklyn should not be missed! Admission is $8, the show is 21+, and doors are at 7:30pm immediately following the Skateboard Marketing/Nova Entertainment and Metal Insider/Mosh Potatoes showcases. First band starts at 8:30 sharp and the show will end by midnight. Drink specials and CMJ badge specials are TBA.
The showcase features two of NYC’s most brutal acts; Thrash metal titans The Judas Syndrome and Doomsday Mourning. The Judas Syndrome’s debut full-length album “Underneath Blood Skies” was released in April 2010 and peaked at #9 on the CMJ Loud Rock charts. The band is quickly gaining worldwide notoriety with their first single “Death of the Soul” whose video is in full rotation on MTV2 Head Banger’s Ball and was directed by Frankie Nasso of Nova Entertainment. The band also caught the attention of Sirius/XM Liquid Metal PD Jose Mangin and “Death of the Soul” is currently in heavy rotation on Liquid Metal and landed in their "Top 12 DEVILZ DOZEN countdown” for multiple weeks. The album is currently receiving airplay from commercial metal shows, and some syndicated and college metal shows with the help of Skateboard Marketing.
The showcase also features fellow Skateboard Marketing clients Doomsday Mourning who released their aggressively punishing debut EP “The Science of Exploitation” earlier this year and were the #5 most added new band to radio last week with their first single “The Catalyst of Suffering” featuring Ronnie Canizaro of Born of Osiris. The showcase will also feature Massachusetts grind-metal terrorizers Hivesmasher and symphonic death-doom sextet Fin’amor. Hangman Booking & Brodown Booking assembled the showcase.'
