Anybody have the funds for this? I'm booking my cabin this week

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jul 27,2010 11:14am
Fear Factory alone is 70000 tons

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Jul 27,2010 11:17am
Joe Christianni was going to go to this for Fear Factory but bringing his girlfriend would've exceeded the 70000 ton weight limit alone.

toggletoggle post by burnsy nli at Jul 27,2010 11:20am
I know it's just a running rttp joke but you must be confusing his girl with someone else haha.

SHE IS REAL

Joe Christianni's girlfriend once put out a grease fire with her camel toe

I hope the 20 TBA bands are better than most on that list

toggletoggle post by nekronaut  at Jul 27,2010 11:31am
When this website first popped up I was thinking maybe, even registered for pre-sale cabins.. that was months ago, line up has expanded since then but I'm not really into the majority of them to merit spending a grand to see them.. Unless the next 20 tba are monumental bands I will just stay here and wait for most these bands to play the Palladium, because they have and will again.

toggletoggle post by BrianDBB  at Jul 27,2010 11:32am
From what i've read, they might save the 'bigger' band announcements for the end to get the more expensive cabins filled in later. Small chance, but I'd like to see

King Diamond
Iron Maiden
Rhapsody of Fire
Dragonland
Blind Guardian
Hammerfall
Symphony X

Wait, that's a concert, not a playlist?

toggletoggle post by beleth  at Jan 20,2011 4:45pm
FUCK!!!! If I knew about this 2 months earlier, I'd do it for sure. Even if most of the bands are lame, the concept is fucking awesome.

toggletoggle post by TheRidersofDoom  at Jan 20,2011 4:58pm
itt lots of sweaty hairy dudes and their girlfriends

toggletoggle post by Mark_R at Jan 20,2011 5:14pm
I like a lot of the bands listed, but I think I'm not alone in thinking that doing it this way is an interest-blunter. It's just biting off too much at once. Especially for the first year this is happening. As Nekronaut pointed out above, all or most of these bands will be touring and it makes more sense to me to see them on their separate tours.

Anata was supposed to play this too. If I had 2 grand to throw around, that would have convinced me to buy a ticket. But they're not playing anymore. And I'm not that wealthy... nor wealthy at all. So fuck it. Cruise sounds nice, but next time I see the rest of these bands at the Palladium, I'll just let my imagination conjure up a boat. I like snow better than tropical weather anyway.

toggletoggle post by BrianDBB  at Jan 20,2011 9:56pm
I was sold on the concept alone, nevermind the solid lineup. Not the best, but I assume after a good 1st year the promoter could always make this annual... assuming they aren't already broke from this. Blind Guardian, Testament, Iced Earth, drinking, Cozumel, and more drinking is definitely worth the hefty price tag... fuck it

FINNROLL?

ORLY?

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard at Jan 21,2011 1:35pm
its actually a pretty rad lineup...enough bands that I'd want to see to justify going if I wasnt broke back mountain

toggletoggle post by BrianDBB  at Jan 21,2011 2:09pm
I'll definitely be broke AFTER this shit. 24/7 bars on this could be the death of my bank account/liver

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Jan 21,2011 2:34pm
That's why your plan of action should be to fill water bottles with clear rum and bring them in your carry-on luggage.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jan 21,2011 3:22pm
that lineup is awesome. though the idea of being stuck on a boat with metalheads is stomach-turning.

toggletoggle post by BrianDBB  at Feb 4,2011 9:48am edited Feb 4,2011 9:49am
This was the best festival i'll ever attend, just for the experience alone. So much drinking with bands, buffets, gambling, and just being an asshole all week. If the lineup looks really solid next year, all should consider doing this.

sounds rad but 2 grand is a lot of camping trips. with 2 grand i think there's much better places in the world to go.

exactly. i can buy 2 grand worth of beer and listen to cd's and not be trapped on a boat with metal people.

Big gay boat.

toggletoggle post by ancient master at Feb 4,2011 1:48pm
did you hang out with Roth the whole time? thats what I would have done

toggletoggle post by demondave at Feb 4,2011 9:06pm

If I had a ton of money I would have loved to go to this. I looked at the running order and I thought it was really cool to have the bands playing more than once on different stages. That way you didn't have to miss a band or you could see ones you liked more than once.

I'm still amazed at all the big name bands they got for this

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Feb 23,2011 1:39pm
Did anyone see the beer selection on this cruise? God awful.

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Feb 23,2011 1:41pm
I was initially interested in this thing when it was first announced, but for the price, one could fly to Europe for a festival to see worthwhile bands, rather than garbage that comes through town twice per year.

toggletoggle post by BrianDBB  at Feb 23,2011 2:08pm
Strawberry margaritas all week or GTFO. This was an expensive concert with a great lineup. Could've flown to Europe but who gives a shit, this ruled

toggletoggle post by NuclearWinter at Feb 23,2011 2:14pm
I give a shit about not imbibing in concoctions generally reserved for the womanfolk and giving my money to bands who have all been cover features in Decibel Magazine.

toggletoggle post by bobnomaamrooney at Feb 23,2011 2:16pm

gayest

Decent bands and not so decent bands on the list. Would have been better 15 yrs ago, indeed.

All that said, overdone and overpriced show. Kefka would agree.

Who's the faggot drinking out of the horn? If I wasn't a broke, jobless stoner and had money to burn on shit like this I would rather go to Jam Cruise because there are waaaaaaay more waaaaaaay better drugs to do.
