Seriously, In 2 years I've acquired 13 new axes. Is this excessive?

er... 14, I just bought another one today.

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard at Jan 20,2010 5:48pm
I had 7 axes and 3 basses at one point but now i'm down to 4 and 1 respectively acoustic guitar not included.

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Jan 20,2010 5:58pm
What made you cut back to 4? That's the weird thing, with the exception of 1 I play ALL of them.

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard at Jan 20,2010 6:00pm
Sold for drugzzzz

toggletoggle post by martins   at Jan 20,2010 6:07pm
No, I just don't do it often. Already planning on a custom Parker Dragonfly, a Blackmachine, and a Blackdroid.

Are you the only one willing to sell or trade me a guitar at a discounted price?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 20,2010 6:11pm
Must be nice to throw money around.

I've got 5 guitars, but none of them are over $700.

Same here. Mine run from $100-$5000+

$5000? Christ, what you got?

I really want to save money to buy a Martin acoustic.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jan 20,2010 6:19pm

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 20,2010 6:21pm
Lefty? I have 0 experience playing lefties but I'm ambidextrous so I'm interested in trying it. I do more things left handed but play righty

I got my first guitar as a Christmas gift in 9th grade. On my birthday the following year, I got an SG Faded Special with a hard case for about $700 of birthday money and savings. Haven't felt the need to get a new guitar since and that was almost 7 years ago.

If my math is right, I went longer than you've been alive with just one guitar. Now, in two years I went from 1 to well over a dozen.

Nope. I'm just as old as the guitar is. Take care of stuff, it might suprise you.

Sounds about right. One GOOD guitar really is all you need. But as I'm finding now more is merrier!

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Jan 20,2010 6:31pm
I've been giving thought to selling my first guitar lately, but I haven't played it in so long. I'd have to restring it and see if I still like it after playing.

toggletoggle post by martins   at Jan 20,2010 6:37pm
I went 7 years with one guitar before I bought the Douglas. Had that for a year but barely used it. Then I got a Parker weeee

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jan 20,2010 9:12pm
I was starting to build up to 8, but now I've wittled it down to 4 (for the time being, new bass is on the list), I've been trying to make all my axes high end so I don't have the need to buy so many. That way I can focus on amps har har

toggletoggle post by DJ DEATH at Jan 20,2010 11:22pm
Yes. But, im done now. Les Paul Special, Les Paul Studio, and a 73 Les Paul Custom. 14 guitars probably means you havent found your sound yet? Thats crazy!

toggletoggle post by DJ DEATH at Jan 20,2010 11:22pm
the special has p90's.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jan 20,2010 11:33pm
i have five, but one is in Florida, and another i found in the dorm and it just sits there.
i spent probably $1100 with $700 being the total of what i put into my C1+ i've been looking into a new guitar too but im not too sure probably an SG or a ESP

niccoli had a shit ton at one point if i remember all ESP/LTDs

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jan 21,2010 8:56am
Had 7 electric guitars. Now down to 6, with a POS 5 string bass on the way for some budget home recordings of ideas that I have.

Who the fuck charges $75 for a setup? The ONE time I've paid for a setup, it was only $45, and I only did it because that particular guitar just was not cooperating with me at the time. Normally, I do all my own work.

Ooooh, that's tasty.

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Jan 21,2010 3:51pm
But yeah. If I didn't spend all my money on video games it'd totally all go to guitars.

toggletoggle post by Spaldino at Jan 21,2010 4:44pm
i want so many basses but i am so broke. if i had money again like i did a year ago... i would be buying a bass every week or so.

Sorta.

My guitar style is pretty well formed, since I've been playing for over 20 years now, but my chops have been growing lately like crazy since I ditched singing and concentrated on guitars.

As I got more technical, I needed a longer scale 24 fret guitar. Now I can't stop! The other thing is that I use a lot of different PuP combos, tunings, etc... so having a guitar in C, E, Dropped D, and E flat (for example) comes in really handy in my studio.

Plus, they look puuuuurdy on my walls. I have one guitar that looks so cool, but I've literally played it once and swore never again. Junk, but pretty junk.

I like everything but the maple fingerboard. That said, I do need a guitar with a maple board. Most likely it'll be a strat.
