You gotta love when a band member leaves you in the lurches, then a week later asks for their gear back and you get to inform them that they never once pitched in for rent or any other band expenses and that what they owe you is worth more than their piece of shit drum kit.

Glorious.

i would burn a place down for that kind of thing.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 1:43pm
As in, if you were said drummer you would burn the building down to get your stuff back? Would not work.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Sep 24,2009 1:44pm
this is off to a lulzing beginning

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 1:45pm
It will have a lulzier ending.

toggletoggle post by ernie at Sep 24,2009 1:48pm
yeah who am i kidding, one time i set an actual nice drumset outside a garage to be picked up the next day but instead it just got rained on for 2 weeks. i laughed. stupid drummers.

in all fairness you knew what you were getting yourself into

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Sep 24,2009 1:54pm
he owes me an effects pedal to lol

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 1:54pm
In all fairness, I don't really give a shit and exacted my revenge on his drumset with my testicles. It was very therapeutic.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Sep 24,2009 1:57pm
John Bonham's playing Moby Dick for real!

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 1:59pm
Yessuh. There was also several very emotional renditions of the drum fill in "In the Air Tonight" which were also very therapeutic.

drummeritis is a dibilitating disease

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 2:01pm
So is addiction to pain pills, but that's neither here nor there.

Alex thankfully doesn't suffer from drummeritis.

but he does share and equally tragic case of insane clown possititis. there is unfortunately no cure for this illness. apparently the only treatment comes from support groups.

Not only do you have absolutely ZERO legal right to do this, but it makes you an enormous cocksucker. It's the whole "two wrongs don't make a right" thing. It's sad, really, because I always thought you weren't that type of guy.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:05pm
Get fucked with enough and you change. It's science.

Also, you don't know the 6 years of history involved in this.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:07pm
Also, the fact that he never paid any band rent is the reason why I don't have a key to get in the building to even get his drums. It's actually pretty hilarious.

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Sep 24,2009 5:08pm
I don't need to.

Again, two wrongs don't make a right. You don't take someone's gear, not even a colossal shitbag. Luke at Priority used to take bands' gear when they didn't pay rent. It's the same thing, and as he found out it is completely ILLEGAL.

If the kid didn't pay rent, you should have booted him. Instead, you let him do it and now feel entitled to steal his shit. From his perspective, who's the asshole?

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:09pm
We're not stealing it, we're storing it until he pays his share.

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Sep 24,2009 5:13pm
And for the record, I fucked up once many years ago and fell behind about $500 on two months rent on a room with a band I shared. They stole all my shit and moved off. All in all, they walked away with around $9,000 worth of my shit feeling it was fair over the $500 in rent. Also, they didn't pay THEIR rent, thus leaving me with no gear and a $1000 tab. Luckily, they left behind my vintage Les Paul, which the guy at the space felt he was entitled to hand on his wall FOR SALE. Meanwhile, I walked in a week later and wrote a check on the spot for the full $1000.

I'm not comparing my situation to yours. Not at all. What I am saying is that stealing someone's shit is NOT COOL. People get attached to gear, it goes beyond money.

Again, this is ILLEGAL. Landlords cannot do this, a sub-leasing tenant like yourself cannot either.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:17pm
I understand your point, but I hate this kid too much to give him any breaks. Say what you will about this, but I'm deciding that he doesn't deserve any help from anyone. Fuck him.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Sep 24,2009 5:23pm
take the high road Mike. give the kid his drums.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:25pm
You obviously missed the post where I said I don't even have access to them. We moved out of the studio into a room across the building and the only access I had was the key to the studio I gave up, assuming that all rent would be paid and we would all get new keys.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:26pm
Also, the high road has only made it easier for birds to shit on me, so fuck it.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Sep 24,2009 5:33pm
Well you are correct, I did miss that part. And life shits on everyone. Good luck with the situation though.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 5:38pm
Like I said, I've decided that he doesn't need an umbrella.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS  at Sep 24,2009 5:46pm
jizz on his drumsticks and give them back to him or you're a pussy

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Sep 24,2009 9:31pm
I'm going to take his mother out to a nice seafood dinner and NEVER CALL HER AGAIN!

toggletoggle post by fuck logging in at Sep 24,2009 9:32pm
