Granted it's not the 22nd yet, but the weather is as such.

Right now I'm digging:

Type O(Ultimo Autumnal Band)
Finntroll
Opeth
Amon Amarth
Boarcorpse
Led Zeppelin

I forgot the Beatles.

And Jesu.

Opeth, (early) Ulver, Unholy (Fi), Empyrium, Dissection, Shape of Despair (Shades of...) are some of my favorites, but there are many that enhance this season for me.

Godflesh (Pure and Selfless)

I feel like i enjoy these records more and moar every time i listen to em.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Sep 11,2009 3:36pm
that's what happens. Godflesh plants the seed and it doesn't stop growing.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Sep 11,2009 3:36pm
if you haven't already, get Songs of Love and Hate. that will push you completely over the edge.

I too always talk about wanting to live in perpetual autumn; it's my favorite season. Foliage, the coolness of the air, the smell of the forest. Around this time I like listening to anything that has a forest feel, best exemplified by the early works of Opeth (IMO).

October Tide
Katatonia (early)
Drudkh
TypeO
early Ulver
Enslaved - Eld and everything before it
Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Taake
Kampfar
Rapture
Shape of Despair
early My Dying Bride
Paradise Lost - Gothic
Mourning Dawn
Forgotten Tomb (first 2 albums)
Opeth - Orchid and Morningrise
Funeral Mourning
Bathory - Blood Fire Death & Hammerheart
Uvall
Lycia

All melancholy music sounds better in autumn basicly. I fucking love this time of year.

This summer was grind and stoner for me. Nothing but Nasum and Torche.

Oh I think i have to add this album by Aeternus from Norway...spinning it while properly influenced is crucial.

Agalloch is mightely appropriate. I listen to a lot of black/folk at this time of the year.

YES. I love you.

Katatonia
Agalloch
Type O
Steve Von Till
and randomly...Old Slayer. For some reason Slayer reminds me of fall.

shit needs to start dying before I get into that autumn music mood. maybe it won't happen this year cause I listened to a ton of doom and black metal during the summer-must be the rain.

black metal trilogy, pg.99, nick drake, john coltrane (kulu se mama as of late)
waiting for domestic powerviolence to make it to my mailbox... that might be in fairly heavy rotation on my turntable if it ever gets here.
word of advice, never use super saver shipping from amazon if you want to get something in less than 3 weeks.

I think we're prettymuch agreed Type O is optimal autumn music. I tend to break out Agalloch - The Mantle and In Flames - whoracle
