i am getting mad at how unwelcoming ppl are here and why bands are "more " metal then bands like trivium or bodom. Tell me what makes the stuff you listen to better. Please. I checked out that anus site someone told me to and its to confusing. I also read wikipedia about death metal and metalcore and think both are metal.

jesus greeny we aren't assholes. we like to bust balls. first rule if you're going to live here is learn to take some joking around, even if it seems real. second thing is you desperately need to delve deeper into the metal genre further than what shirts are up in hot topic, what your dumbass classmates listen to and think is brooootal, and what victory, eulogy and ferrit records shoves down your throat. it seems obvious that you really haven't learned where metal came from, where its going and where it went along its long, glorious journey. start with reading wikipedia about metal and death metal. read the list of death metal artists and start listening away. everyone has to start somewhere. now get to it!

I often make fun of metalcore and don't consider it straight up Metal. Though it is a cousin of Metal.
Alot of Metal I listen to has classical (movie score quality really, not the chipper classical mush.) elements and I'm sure in the early days of Heavy metal much of classical music was probably frowned upon by the young counter culture brats of the time. Now it's the deep or mature and european thing to do. listen to classical here and there. hah. But to my ears Jonh williams is pretty fucking "metal" sometimes.

What makes my music better than yours? I like it more. That's pretty much it.
