In the last 2 years, I've gone from having 1 guitar for some 15+ years to having walls completely covered in guitars. I was just posting a few new ones on another forum and figured I'd post em all over here, to update Nicc and Blue and those who helped me make that initial purchase that put me over the edge....

and for giggles, some partial shots of my current living room:

I gotta say, all those billions of people that used to rant about how much money I'd save if I quit smoking? I never would have believed it. I've bought so much gear and it's all money I used to spend on cigarettes. Unbelievable!

I love my setup now. I'm playing more and having more fun than ever before.

It's a Starfire. I'm going to replace pretty much everything, but it's a good deal for $80.

that place is a lefty's paradise.

It's a super cheap ebay guitar based on an ESP f-series. I won't say whose, since I was thoroughly dissatisfied with it and had to replace the bridge just to make it playable. It's pretty nice now, though.

Yes. I love the fact that there are so many more choices out there for lefties nowadays. I had one guitar for so long just because of the lack of selection and the lack of anything inexpensive. Now I have more options than I could ever hope for!

How is the Alesis working out for you? Sometimes I think about getting something similar for home recording purposes.

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Aug 1,2009 3:12pm
The drums are awesome, but it's JUST triggers. The TriggerIO is used to trigger samples I already have on my computer. The sounds I get are awesome, and they respond well. The hi-hat can get hinky, but everything is fine tunable also. The rims all have separate triggers, so that kit actually has china/crash cymbals loaded on all the tom rims.

The only recording I've finished with it so far would be this:

Shit Turducken

I played Mallcore guitar LONG before I ever took up Mallcore vocals, dude.

Blue, this is all your fault, man. You gave me the bug with that first Jackson.

What a crazy mirror universe you live in.

Silly lefties! How many guitars are from Rondo? I see at least two I think. Your set up is fucking SICK though. What are the bottom two units in the rack?

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Aug 1,2009 11:59pm
4 guitars and the bass are from Rondo. The Paul with the floyd, the Ibby knockoff, the king V, and the PRS looking guitar are all Rondo guitars.

The second unit up is a 6 channel headphone preamp. I've never actually used it. The bottom unit is a Behringer compressor that I got as a birthday present from a friend. He ordered one from Musicians Friend and they sent him 8 instead.

Oh, and stop paying so much attention to the rack before you end up noticing the jar full of roaches.

You know what I like best about this recording rig?

LISTENING to music. I've found so much shit in my favorite albums I never knew about because even my best headphones and speakers didn't make it audible. It's really crazy. I was listening to something today that I thought was actually silence for a minute during a song. When I put it through the Behringers, I realized that all this time there was a quiet keyboard note sustaining the whole part.

Also, Stereo panning is a whole new shebang with these. There's more definition to the field, so stuff like Tool and Mars Volta is like hearing an entirely new album. Weird how panning is better on these speakers than it is with headphones.

They're Behringer speakers?

toggletoggle post by ArrowHeadNLI at Aug 2,2009 1:42am
Yeah, Behringer Truths. I think I paid like $225 used, and they're great.

Two things.

1) I don't actually own an amp right now.

2) I really don't have a lot of material right now.
