New site? Maybe some day.
Sorry TycoBrahe, Encyclopaedia Metallum was forced to reject your submission for the band Heisai Yasokawa's EMPTY ORCHESTRA (United States of America), for the following reason:
Not metal; does not belong.
If you would like to object to this rejection, please do so in the appropriate thread in the suggestions and complaints forum. Do not e-mail moderators directly about this.
Sincerely,
Encyclopaedia Metallum

I'm not surprised....they're REALLY particular about what they put on there as far as genres are concerned |
They're pretty retarded about that shit sometimes. Ion Dissonance isn't on there. and theres a lot of grindish stuff that would make sense on there that isnt |
Yeah, I fail to see how this is surprising. |
just make a shitty deathcore band, and itll be up right away |
They're not as liberal as they used to be |
And all the TTOS projects are on that site EXCEPT HYEO. WTF? |
Now that is a shock. I remember they denied Benumb over and over. |

I do remeber for a long time they had a straight up grind ban....which is illogical IMO |
They still do, if you click the 'not metal' link. |
isn't Gridlink on there though? |
There are many loopholes in MA's submission standard |
My favorite HYEO song is Rusty's ukulele solo |
Grindcore - Death/grind = OK. Noisegrind, crustcore, jazz/grind, heavy punk/hardcore, etc. = Not OK. |

Nick shoulda sent that in with the submission...that would've got us in fo sho |
Whaaaaaa? 26 Beers is on there!!! HAHA |
I submitted Rampant Decay for lulz. |
haha, aww, I was hoping HYEO would get on there. Can't say I'm surprised for some reason.
Sometimes you can go to the forums and argue your way in, but it's kinda annoying. Someday I'll do it for you guys! |
Nick- maybe when we do the record in the winter it will get on. |
we made it to that site and spacecorpse left us neg rating right away... |
ttos was metal because i was in it XD |
The worst loophole with MA submissions are the Ambient / Dark Ambient stuff they add.
It basically boils down to the Moderator's opinion. |
not news, terrible subject to go to the front page. |
I presonally think Led Zeppelin belongs on MA. Even though they are "proto-metal" ..
If Rush is on there, the Zeppelin can be on there. If Deep Purple is on there, then Zeppelin can be on there. Hell, I even think King Crimson should have a nod on that page.
What the moderators deem 'metal' is ultimately redefining the whole genre for all the metal newcomers. Site getting real lame now.
The review system also makes me sick. Nothing worse than reading a negative review about a GOOD classic metal album by some proclaimed 16 year old. |
Between The Buried and Me is not on here and that pisses me off. There are so many bands who should be included but aren't. Hell, they even accepted Emmure and labeled them Deathcore (which they are not). |
I'm pretty sure BtBaM are on that site |
they were for years. but I guess they were taken off. Good. |

they're not deathcore? |
haha you're just pissed because they robbed you of all your points when you had your breakdown last year. |
anything that overtly has more "-core" elements than metal elements will probably get the boot and/or not get accepted. BtBaM have always had a -core backbone but the musicianship is definitely top-notch with their touches of metal in the songs. |

they're not deathcore? |
No. There's not one single drop of death metal in their music whatsoever. |

They are most definitely metal. I think for the past 2 albums they've moved away from the Metalcore genre completely. I never really thought they were core to begin with. They've always been a Progressive Metal band to me. Progressive metalcore or something. |
They have chugs like every 3 songs and they're tasty chugs.
Also, archaeon was denied at one point because i submitted before our CDs were actually for sale. gay. |

Prayer for Cleansing > Between the Buried and Me |
Agreed. So glad I saw the prayer for cleansing reunion at hellfest. Well worth the trip. That and shai huluds "last" show with Geert. Ahhhh memories. |
We got rejected because our CD is imaginary, apparently. |
I disagree man. Plain and simple.
(1) Your band is awesome.
(2) Fuck that stupid website. |
haha, I just figured we would sneak on since everyone in Rampant Decay minus the drummer is in or has been in a black metal or death metal band. |
I didn't care that much in the first place, I was just amused to see in what way we wouldn't make the cut. |

jealous :( |
They also won't add Powerglove because they're a 'cover' band..
everyones fav gradesideservice is on here haha
can u search by just state? |
Composted was put up on MA waaay before we released our CD. Cool that they did that but stupid since it's against their rules.
As far as the whole BTBAM thing is concerned, they've maybe had about 5% "core" anything in their entire discography. |
Thank you, Mark...finally a little sanity.
They had two albums that had breakdowns. Oddly through those, they were on that site. Now they're more of a Prog Metal band and they're removed?
I mean...it's a shitty site. Just about every band has some sort of label they don't merit. But I don't understand why BTBAM would have been removed. |
BTBAM deserves to be up there more than other bands I've seen (unless they're deleting those too).
I think Millenial Kingdom and Brian were right though, it seems BTBAM's newer stuff is a little more proggy than the older stuff. Not sure why they'd take it down now.
But I think a lot of the mods think any band that has had a "breakdown" in any of their songs is highly frowned upon.
but like i said above, who are they to define what's metal and what's not. certainly doesn't make sense when they delete shit they accepted |
By that logic, Slayer shouldn't be allowed to be on the site. Raining Blood has the sickest one chord chug in history. Even Hell Awaits had chugs. |
Joeyumbrella IS the gayest shit. Love youuuu. |

the self titled and the silent circus were their only good records IMO.
and wtf is up with me getting people names wrong all the time? wrong first name, right last name and proper reference. ugh |
I thoroughly enjoyed the s/t. Silent Circus just didn't do it for me. Alaska was really good, mainly because half of Glass Casket is on it. I thought Colors was fucking crap when I first heard it, then it grew on me. I have to be in the mood for it though. |
I'm only really in for the first self/titled and silent circus as well.
Their more "metal" material is less interesting to me...but it's still more "metal" and that's what the site is about. |
i honestly haven't heard enough after the s/t so my opinion does not matter whatsoever haha. i DO remember, though, the song "naked by the computer" basically describes half of my life |
speaking of glass casket. desperate mans diary, holy fuck! absolutely AMAZING record. i know, its been out for years now, and ive had it for years, but STILL! |
Seriously, I cannot fucking get sick of that album. We Are Gathered Here Today is decent, but DMD is just too good. |
yeah dude. every song on that record is fucking amazing. theres not one i dislike |
Glass gasket>btbam. They didn't tour nearly enough around here but I still managed to see them 3 times. |

I have the exact opposite feeling on them...I LOVE We Are Gathered Here Today, but Desperate Man's Diary never caught on with me |
did a tour with prayer for cleansing. band ruled |
i haven't heard Desperate Man's Diary, but We Are Gathered Here Today is awesome. |
They're not as liberal as they used to be |
Good. But HDEO is clearly metal. They need to hold the line to keep out the hipster metal shit, not fanatical tributes. |
I've seen this band before, they sounded pretty heavy to me. |
WE GOT ROBBED SON
If you're not influenced by Dimmu, you're not metal |
too much tweedle dee, not enough tweedle DUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUN |
