Anyone in the area who can appreciate some good hip hop, I'm playing with some other acts tonight at the AS220. I was informed I can't use any blatant well known sampled beats or cover any songs. I've never had to comply to anything like that, I know it's because the are an ASCAP venue or whatever. I just think it's a little strange seeing that hip hop is basically born from sampling, but most of mine are obscure. I also haven't been to the AS220 since I saw Gridlink last year.
