I typically drive down on thursday night (well, I leave around 3-4am) and then get there for my hotel to be ready. On sunday, I leave the show during the last band and drive back home. If you aren't going to drive back home right after the show, come back tuesday. the one day carina and I left in the morning on monday, we were on the road from 7am til after 9pm due to traffic.

depends on what route you take man. i left 11 am on monday last year, made it back MA by 6:30 pm

I'm glad I won't have to put up with any of that NYC traffic, though I will be going through DC. Should take me about five hours to get home as long as I avoid rush hour.

oh and traffic wasn't as bad last year cause gas was $9 an oz.

i honestly don't remember the route....it was about an extra 50 miles, but was alot quicker than it would've been had we gone straight through the way mapquest tells you to.

aparantl, i did not save the directions anywhere.
but basically, go to google maps and drag the line away from the main highways.
50-75 more miles tops, and a bit confusing
but way less tolls and traffic

orgy: I know what you did, you went around north of NYC on um.. I think it's 287 to 684 to 84. it avoids a much of tolls, but is 50 miles longer.

You still have to pay a toll going over the Tappan Zee bridge but it's only half the ass ramming you get from going over the George Washington.

My friend just got his ticket today, and apparently it was ticket #560 or something, so apparently this is selling well. I think the capacity for the Sonar is around 1000.

Many people have been wondering how long tickets will be on sale, so please take note of what is going on right now. We are waiting approval on permit applications to increase capacity with an outside production, but until the permits are received we must approach ticket sales as mentioned below.


As of today, April 9th, only 100 3-day passes are available. In addition, only Friday and Sunday single day tickets are available for the remainder of April. It is not certain how many single day tickets for each day will be made available in early May, but we will update you as soon as we know how many can be made available, if any at all.


We don't want this to be too alarming because we have been working on accommodating more people with an outside production in addition to the use of all three rooms of Sonar. However, it won't be until sometime during the first week of May that we would actually receive the permits from the city to proceed with the outside production, so until then we cannot oversell tickets.


So, once again, MDF VII could sell out in the next few weeks. If you already have a flight booked for MDF or plan on traveling from a far away distance in general, consider this a fair warning and do what you can to get your tickets as soon as possible. As already stated, as of April 9th there are 100 3-day passes available, but it's likely that they won't be available for long.

Psytoxia's gonna be partying it up at the Holiday Inn on Baltimore St. 20 minute walk from the venue, meh. Don't worry about re-entry. Also the parking lot across from the venue is usually packed and very dim lit. Smokings not an issue in there. Just keep one eye lookin out for cops and you're good. We'll have to meet up to toke at some point that weekend.
