nah just that little mbox thing but I'd look into other software. Protools may be industry standard but hardware problems galore. Fuck those guys. Get Logic and a Motu instead.

m-audio just got licensed by digidesign so you can use any of their interfaces, which are much cheaper than digi's, with pro tools. the cheapest the units get are 100 bucks but they do not come bundled with pro tools. i got my version of PT for like 150 or something like that though. heres a link to m-audios usb interfaces: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.family&ID=USBinterfaces

You can use M-Audio interfaces with PT, but you need to make sure you have the correct version of the software for that (M-Powered).

How many inputs do you need?

The various Mbox's are fine if you only need a couple inputs. The Mbox 2 pro is pretty cool, because it has the 2 built in preamps, plus two additional line inputs for adding more channels of better preamps. The internal ones aren't great, but useable.

If you want more options, I would get a different software platform.

I use a DIGI 002 rack at my home setup. It gets the job done. First thing I did was put money into better preamps though. The 002 has 4 line inputs, plus ADAT lite-pipe that allows for 8-channel expansion (via an additional AD converter), plus 2-channel SPDIF inputs for up to 18 inputs.

If you want more options, I would get a different software platform.
