For those of you who haven't heard this album... check it out.
The versions of Pachelbel's Canon are some of the most beautiful / emotional pieces of music I've ever heard.

I've been getting into Bibio and Boards of Canada lately so I'll definitely try it out.

well, this is nothing like Boards of Canada (which I enjoy, too).
If you really want to dig deeper into some of the roots of ambient music, Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream are a must.

I downloaded it earlier but it was WMA's and I have a serious beef against WMA's.
I wanna check this out mainly for Pachelbel's Cannon. I'm not a huge fan of Fripp so that first track/half probably won't entice me very much.
In other news, listened to Kraftwerk's Autobahn (the LP) in it's entirety today. AWESOME.

WMA's? Weapons of Mass ASS. I have a beef with those, too.

other good ambient-type stuff similar to TD and Eno:
Harold Budd
Robert Rich
Cusco
Jean-Michel Jarre
Klaus Shulze
+others
All great stuff that taps into the subconscious.

I love how he took the song and stretched it out. It's real somber in this form. Brian Eno is great.
