well, this might just be the best music DVD performance i've seen yet. it is a 10 all around, they are tighter than a nun's vag. Mikael Akerfeldt once again proves he is one of, if not the best death metal vocalist ever, but unfortunately continues to show that he was not a born frontman. the setlist is fucking awesome, the sound is fucking awesome, everything about this is a cunt hair short of perfect. the strength in the vocals is astounding, the guitar tone is perfect, the drums are perfect, they just rip through an incredible set. i only have a 2 complaints. first and foremost is the lack of movement in the crowd. if this was filmed in the US, there would be pits galore. there is plenty of headbanging, and a few weenie pits, but nothing like there should have been. and the other is that i would have liked to see Buried By the Dead. hardly something detrimental. this deserves a standing ovation. i like how it was packaged too, there isn't any backstage stuff or anything, so instead it includes an audio cd of the set, which is definitely something i want. A fucking +. this is the setlist, the two best in my opinion are So You Die and Ominous Bloovomit.

Even though Mikael Akerfeldt isn't the typical death metal frontman, I think his presence (or lack there of?) on stage with Bloodbath makes it very entertaining. Usually you expect a death metal vocalist to be angry, looking tough and saying everything in a death metal voice. Mikael stands there and says in a "Bed Time Magic on Magic 106.7" style voice, "Yes, thank you. We are bloodbath. Please, say everything in a death metal voice. I hope you want to hear a few more."

This would not work for everyone though.

The only band allowed to be pretentious is COMPOSTED. God fucking dammit. Mikael Akerfeldt knows not to step on our toes.

I like this dvd, but Akerfeldt is a fucking cunt. I cannot stand his peronsality. He can growl, but he needs to shut the fuck up and stop trying to make LAME jokes after every song, and name dropped Opeth. I also thought Swano's vocals were a little low in the mix. It was great seeing him on a big stage though.

Akerfeldt is what he is.. he'll never change.
15 years ago he was sitting around a campfire writing old Opeth tunes and now he's a metal superstar, but yet a hippie at the same time.

I used to like him because when i first saw opeth when they started coming to the US he would just say "thank you" and was all quiet and stuff. Now he constantly babbles on stage.

Heh, I remember his "thank you" days.
