According to DominicanToday.com, Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA will play two shows in Cuba next month. The concerts, which are being organized by the Cuban Agency of Rock and the Young Communist League, will take place on July 18 at the Antimperialist Tribune and on July 20 in Santa Clara.
SEPULTURA entered the studio last month to begin recording their new album, which is based on the Anthony Burgess novel "A Clockwork Orange" (later turned into the classic film by Stanley Kubrick).
The band's forthcoming CD will be the group's first to feature drummer Jean Dolabella, who replaced founding member Igor Cavalera in 2006. Igor has since reunited with his brother and former SEPULTURA frontman Max Cavalera in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
SEPULTURA debuted a new, then-still-incomplete song during their May 17, 2008 concert at Festival Maquinaria in São Paulo, Brazil.
Andreas Kisser recently completed work on his solo debut, entitled "Hubris I & II". A two-disc set, it is tentatively scheduled for release later in the year via Holland's Mascot Records. The CD was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in São Paulo, Brazil.

I think is great for the Cubans to see some metal since no band would ever tour there |
|
I like it because it's one place Americans aren't allowed to go. |

There has been a metal scene in Cuba for quite some time. In the early/mid 90's a French label released a 7" comp of Cuban bands. I also have one song by a Cuban punk band on a comp CD. I know that a Costa Rican band called Teatrocromacia or something similar to that, toured there a few years ago. |
