Don't forget about the areas with extreme poverty in India. The split between the Upper Class / Middle Class / everyone is so extreme, a huge fraction of India barely makes enough money to live on. The rivers are polluted, people bath in water full of bacteria, and some of the houses are built on mounds of trash.
