Granted i know all of like two people probably listen to these guys, but has anyone else heard the first two albums in this yet? Mezzo Forte was fucking amazing and Fortissimo just got leaked and i really have to say that these guys are probably the best doom band around right now. they just have a different approach to the same sound that makes them that much better.
the end of "Darkness" on Fortissimo just hits me so hard. all i can imagine during the end is descending out of a plane and freefalling torwards the earth as the apocalypse is happening. its so beautiful and yet so dismal and depressing.
anyone that loves doom metal (not mindless droning doom, more like funeral doom i guess) should check out Mezzo Forte and Fortissimo... hell even their older stuff too. definitely for fans of Saturnus, Desire, Shape of Despair, Evoken, Morgion, Monolithe, Swallow the Sun, so on and so forth. IM me or something and i will hook you up with either a direct download from me or a link to the new one. (best to have both albums though as they are a concept trilogy) |

One of my favorite bands in the last what 8 years? I got the first albumk on release day and have been a fan ever since.
Amazing band!

Evoken = elite. Their new album is the epitome of tragedy and hatred. Probably the most underrated U.S. band, and one of the greatest Doom acts next to Skepticism, Thergothon and diSEMBOWELMENT. |

i actually heard the new one wasn't as impressive as Antithesis of Light. i'd like to hear it anyways, Embrace the Emptiness and Quietus are otherworldly. |

I guess it might not be impressive if you're expecting Evoken to do something drastically different than what they've been doing for years now. I remember some people arguing the same thing about Antithesis of Light, in comparison to Quietus. A Caress of the Void is typical Evoken; monstrous, dark, and narcotic. |

Another not-really-metal symphonic album that came out this year that I think I enjoyed even more than this is Elend's A World in Their Screams...check that one out too |
