I ordered a 500GB drive for my computer upstairs to re-do it.
it was suppose to be a SATA drive, but it came as a PATA/100.
will that work with either SATA or ATA (IDE)?
I guess PATA/100 is IDE. I didn't know that.
guess the S/P is the way the data is accessed...
but Parallel is faster than Serial in theory, but not in practice I guess.
have you seen a sata lappy drive? it's the same exact interface as a large sata drive. I want to try hooking up a 1tb desktop drive to a lappy now.
The crazy thing is that most 1 or 2U pizzabox rack servers you buy now will have 2.5" SAS drives in them. crazyness! SAS interfaces will also take SATA drives too though, which is cool. SATA interfaces will not take SAS though.
