I may need a new clutch on a 1998 S-10 soon...prob like 2-3 months.

toggletoggle post by I_am_not_me   at Oct 4,2007 9:43pm edited Oct 4,2007 9:44pm
I won't even mention the irony that you so recently wrecked your car...

Oh wait, I just did.

Granted, it'd be far MORE ironic were the thread timing reversed.

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Oct 4,2007 11:41pm
Alex can do your clutch easy, he's replaced plenty of them

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Oct 5,2007 10:18am

can you drop a 302 cammer into my Merkur xr4ti and then in turn twin turbo it and install the transfer case and running gear from the xr4x4 (europe only) to make an AWD V8 monster. tune it with megasquirt as well?

Where is this garage? And if it's not too far from me, need any help running it? I could use some side work, and I've been doing this shit for some good time now. I don't know everything, but I know a good amount plus I'm a fast learner.

I wish you guys were in PVD..we need a good DIY car dude here.

toggletoggle post by weird at Oct 8,2007 12:24pm
No offense but how much do you know about cars? How did you learn what you know about them? Why should someone trust you with their car? If I want something cheap, I'll do it myself or go to a friend who is a mechanic.

Not sure who that's directed to, but if it's directed to me:

I know quite a good amount. I went to school for auto mechanics for a little while, have worked in 3 garages, and do all my own work myself. Not to mention some of my best friends are mechanics, my uncle's a mechanic, my cousin's a mechanic, some of my old bosses (not garage jobs) are mechanics, most of the people I work with are mechanics, etc. I think I know a fairly good amount after a couple years of all of this.

Sorry man no room... really appreciate the offer I'll let you know if we ever need anything.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 11,2007 1:35pm
we dont do body work and we cant do a transmission flush or radiator flush cuz we dont have the proper equipment... we can obviously change the fluid tho.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 11,2007 1:36pm
We are accepting jobs now.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 11,2007 1:41pm
yep hit us up

toggletoggle post by morgirion at Oct 11,2007 2:43pm
curious... how much are you renting the garage for? me and my buddy were looking to do the same thing. how many bays? lifts?

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 11,2007 11:51pm
we got a deal from a friend and there is no more space in the building.
we have 2 bays there were no lifts but we did an engine for a lift trade.
the garage is in the middle of the woods so it will be mostly side jobs for now.
my buddy is ase certified.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 11,2007 11:51pm
tell your friends it will be cheaper than a garage.. we have low overhead.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 12,2007 1:24pm

hahha NO.... although that would be amazing... you know what project i would rather do instead... its cheaper and would be even more of a "WHAT THE FUCK I GOT BEAT BY THAT?!" kind of thing

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 14,2007 2:27pm
ummm.... no we don't know?

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Oct 15,2007 2:50am
well josh knows and thats all that matters...

basically you take two garret T3 turbos... weld up headers with a flange to connect a turbo with an external wastegate (1 turbo and wastegate for each side obviously), hook those mofos up to an lt1...

an lt1 thats nestled inside a buick roadmaster/chevy caprice wagon. with the right tuning and injectors, that should be good for a safe 550 rwhp on the t3s in stock form.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 15,2007 4:27pm
tunning american station wagons is so epping,nh 1990.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 15,2007 4:29pm
if ur gonna tune a wagon do the 302 in a volvo wagon thing thing and go from there.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 15,2007 4:34pm
actually i guess u can put a 350 in too http://youtube.com/watch?v=vs100JqQGuw

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 15,2007 4:35pm
supposedly bolts right up no kit required.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 15,2007 4:40pm
i could make one of those for like 10,000. not as nice as the one in the video tho.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Oct 15,2007 4:51pm
well im getting a roadmaster/caprice wagon regardless. best band vehicle ever. but yeah... lt1s are cheap to tune. t3's are cheap to buy. woodpaneling is totally stealthy. basically i want it to be quiet... like... stock exhaust, maybe a little grunt to the sound. but i want an electronic exhaust cut out about 18" after the back of the turbos for maximum performance and almost instant spool. nothing like spanking porsches and vettes in a "grandma" wagon... while hauling equipment! ;)

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 15,2007 8:30pm
v8 will be loud no matter what.. even my dodge van is loud enough

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Oct 16,2007 7:28pm
How much to install those airride suspension assistance in a 1990 chevy van?

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 17,2007 11:55pm
i don't think there would be crazy amounts of labor for that but they are like $600 plus for parts I think. I dunno if you are serious about let me know ill look into it.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Oct 18,2007 12:03am
i want six TVs in my trunk

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 18,2007 12:10am
god damn i take it back seems like a decent amount of parts in that kit

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 18,2007 12:10am
i will put 6 tvs in your trunk for 20 bucks

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Oct 18,2007 1:14pm
I have the Airride. It just needs to be installed. The "bags" are installed between the leaf springs and the frame channel.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Oct 18,2007 1:23pm
airride suspension is such a bitch. in the lincolns the airrides always craps out and it always costs like 1k+ to fix.

toggletoggle post by BobNOMAAMRooney nli at Oct 18,2007 1:35pm
Can you drop an STi engine into my 95 Legacy Wagon?

And then put five monitors on the intercooler?

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Oct 18,2007 1:52pm
arg someone give me a real job... like clutch, brakes or ball joints 'rsumptin.

toggletoggle post by BobNOMAAMRooney nli at Oct 18,2007 1:57pm
I think everyone prefers to throw out their frankencar projects

But my car does need brake work...
