Is Shane MacGowan performing with them? I sure hope they are for your sake, Carina. If you are unfamiliar with his antics... just brace yourself and hope he doesn't collapse onto you while you're snapping away or spill any fine Aarsh (that's sixth-level-of-inebriation Irish) whisky on your gear. Should this occur, you will at least have the compensation of knowing that it will have been expensive whisky. And most of all, may he not micturate upon you or your gear.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Pogues last year in NYC and it was grand. Shane wasn't too fucked up, though he did have a caddy of sorts leading him onto the stage when it was necessary for him to be present.

Saw him solo at Lupo's about five years ago and the dude was so wasted, he walked offstage (clutching an expensive bottle) and wandered down Westminster. The band had to go into an extended instrumental while they wrangled his surly ass.

Goodtimes. Great show.

Here....not many people yet. I guess bcz it was the last of all the shows added....

Heh..already hearing backstage storied abt extra people hired just to watch out for shane and make sure no piss or vomit wind up anywhere other than buckets..and to keep him from losing his balance

I saw the pogues last year at the Orpheum. Shane had a roadie who was just there to refill his cup with whiskey. By the end of the show he just grabbed the bottle and drank straight from it. But every song out of him was amazing. I wish I was going this year. :(

i wish the shows were this weekend instead of last week

all the radio stations I normally listen to are either off-line or broadcasting shitty music so after dutch international public radio annoyed me, I tuned in radio K (very popular AM station) and they were playing a pogues song about whiskey.
