Check this out. It gets a little graphic around the 7minute mark. Leave your thoughts

Every time I drive by that spot, I still can't believe they managed to cram over 400 people in such a tiny area.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Feb 27,2007 12:38pm
my friend died in that fire. he was the best.

toggletoggle post by Jimmy_Justice at Feb 27,2007 1:25pm
I think about this everytime I go to a show at a club. This could have happened to anyone of us.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 27,2007 1:28pm
in 2000 when Satyricon and Immortal played upstairs at the Palladium, i remember when Immortal was playing, Abbath was blowing fire at the ceiling, it was going all around the light fixtures and such.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 27,2007 1:33pm
I almost went to that great white show as a laugh, but decided not to and forgot about it.

toggletoggle post by passerby at Feb 27,2007 2:06pm
Where did this video come from?

toggletoggle post by y_ddraig_goch  at Feb 27,2007 2:13pm
when i looked at this thread it was 6/66 for posts/vies, grim huh?

toggletoggle post by Dissector NLI at Feb 27,2007 2:20pm
I got really bored 2 minutes into it and stopped watching.

toggletoggle post by y_ddraig_goch  at Feb 27,2007 2:21pm
I don't care how metal you are, but I can't watch shit like this, I watched some and as soon as I saw the people piled up in the door and screaming I closed that thing...

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Feb 27,2007 2:27pm
i can't watch it at all without feeling sick. the day after that fire was one of the worst days of my life.

toggletoggle post by y_ddraig_goch  at Feb 27,2007 2:34pm
ya it must suck even more losing a friend in it. When I was ten these guys tried to kill my best friend's family in a house fire, instead twelve people on the third floor were killed, it was traumatizing, and more so for him, he flips out when he sees people fooling around with fire.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Feb 27,2007 2:37pm
I used to flip out when I saw people fooling around with fire, I'm not sure why though. I remember a month after that fire happened being at a street punk show at the Living Room and these dumb fucks took this big strand of toilet paper and lit it on fire right in the middle of the fucking floor. Some people just don't get it.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Feb 27,2007 2:39pm
i take comfort in the fact that my friend was helping other people escape when he died. the guy had a heart of gold and even in the last moments of his life, when people were scrambling to get out, he was thinking of others instead of himself.

toggletoggle post by watchmaker666 nli at Feb 27,2007 2:55pm
that image of everyone just stuck in the doorway is horrifying

ONCE TRAMPELED,TWICE FRIED!!!!

MY DEDICATION TO THE STATION...

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Feb 27,2007 3:23pm
No wonder so many people died. Five minutes after it started the entire club was a bonfire. Ouch.

you're right, no one is too "metal" to look past the tragedy. that was really intense. you know, i dont watch stuff like that for some sick reason, i find fascination in videos where in a split second, an event filled with joy can become sheer terror. like that video from Jordan where a wedding party crashes through the floor. that moment where you go from happiness to horror is so gripping.

the little blurb story inside The Red Chord - Fused Together in Revolving Doors is eerie to read now.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Feb 27,2007 3:48pm
wow.
I had to shut it off after 10 minutes.
That is some chilling shit right there, being so close to home.
Even if it was in a different country that would be so negligent. Nevermind the US.

toggletoggle post by hungtableed at Feb 27,2007 4:15pm
Chilling, but so fucking angering as well. The worst part, in my opinion, is about 11 mins in the camera man goes to the back door which is wide open and the path to it is clear and yells "anyone inside" while 100 people are jammed the fuck up at the front door.

Fuck them cunt asshole in great white, who, long after this did a benefit concert for harp seals.
http://www.harpseals.org/helpstop/events/keyclubconcert.html

Even just listening to this is difficult.

Seeing the person walking out on fire made me sick to my stomach. How could anyone be so dumb to allow pyro at a place like that? Jesus I saw footage but that's by far the worst one I've seen. After that 7 minute mark my jaw just hit the floor. The people who survived must be thanking god and thank god you didn't go Rev.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at Feb 27,2007 4:53pm
I still think the most shocking thing about this was that Great White can still draw 400 people. Were the tickets free or something?

toggletoggle post by yummy at Feb 27,2007 5:07pm
Not in the mood to watch this right now. Rev, I also almost went with my brother just for gits and shiggles too and because it's a 15 minute ride down the road. When we were younger he loved once bitten twice shy, but my ex-girlfriend said it would be stupid and not even worth going. I still thank her for talking me out of it.

hahahahaha
what an astute observation, yet so fucking true.

toggletoggle post by passerby at Feb 28,2007 11:19am
Why didn't people just go out the back or break a window?

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Feb 28,2007 11:21am
Because they probably inhaled a huge cloud of black smoke and passed out and were fried.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 28,2007 11:34am
people didn't know where to go cause they were probably drunk and not paying attention and there were doors that were locked/blocked.

I remember that there was footage of people crushed and piled up in the doorway with smoke billowing out over them.

the only thing able me going is I have always paid attention to exits (a neurotic trait from my mom who can't go into malls) and if the singer got out, I'm sure I would have gotten out. still that's scary stuff and hopefully we've learned something.

Red Chord based that song after a similar incident at a nightclub in Boston called The Cocoanut Grove in 1942. Once you read this you'll truly understand the grim account of being Fused Together in Revolving Doors.

Hello,
Im not trying to offend anyone but was wondering if anyone had a copy of this video, I am a firefighter in new jersey and would like to show this video to some of my guys as an educational tool. It shows several ways out of the building but people were only using the one exit. Please let me know if anyone can help me out thank you.
