piecemeal was awsome, even before they changed their name (from Against All to Piecemeal). I used to hang out with those guys on occasion at their jamspace in Peabody, back in the days that The Year of our Lord was still around. everyone knew everyone.

how I long for a revival of those days!

want to start a label-war over it? i'm sure this thread has been started a billion times.

"i would call that band emocore"
"i would call that band hardcore mixed with gay"
well, I call it nu-metal.

At the Gates - Slaughter of the Souls

The metal album that opened all the floodgates to melodic, faggot, scene-core...

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Feb 13,2007 7:26pm
I'd say probably Integrity. They are the most metal hardcore band I can think of. 100 Demons is pretty good too.

toggletoggle post by MadOakDevin  at Feb 13,2007 7:38pm
just now found out that there are two bands with similar names.
36 crazy fists
36 deadly fists

i just now found out they both suck!

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at Feb 13,2007 7:41pm
I'd never lump a fantastic band like Integrity in with metalcore...

toggletoggle post by tylerl  at Feb 13,2007 7:42pm
caliban, the procedure (kinda metalcore)

Kinslayer said:

That's why I referred to them as the most metal Hardcore band. Obviously they are not metal core. But they do play a metallic brand of hardcore.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Feb 13,2007 7:46pm
Isn't metalcore supposed to be short for metallic hardcore anyway? I really don't see how any of the bands you guys are talking about in this thread fit that description.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Feb 13,2007 7:50pm
I have a hard time understanding were alot of bands who refer to themselves as metalcore get the hardcore part. Most of them are more influenced by Pantera than Minor threat.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Feb 13,2007 7:55pm
Exactly. Maybe it's just because I'm much more of a punk kid than a metalhead, but a lot of the stuff people call hardcore and metalcore on this board confuses the hell out of me...

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Feb 13,2007 9:59pm
7 Angels 7 Plagues (More on the hardcore side)
Overcast
Hamartia
old Zao
All Out War
Misery Signals (They have an awesome drummer)
old old Bleeding Through is good
Neaera

toggletoggle post by NateTheWAR at Feb 13,2007 10:17pm
Turmoil - definitely more on the metallic hardcore side and just so fucking intense

From Here On - Metalcore from the Carolinas, fast, heavy and lots of good breakdowns before it was the cool thing to do.

Bird of Ill Omen
Acme
old Caliban (First 2 full lengths and the first Heaven Shall Burn split)
Kiss it Goodbye

I wish I could say otherwise. This is also the reason I currently have a large section of hair "missing" on the back of my head. Sure, it looks like a big bald spot, but it is actually where they removed the hair follicles to transplant to my upper lip. True story.
