Some spammers left comments on our page that can't be deleted. They used some html trick to take out the "delete my comment" link and then replaced it with some usless grey button that only reloads the page (the fact that the button says "delete my comment" means nothing). Does anyone know how to fix this? Myspace's help center blows, and I only get automated responses from them every time.

hmmm try editing your profile so that you cannot have html in your comments..see what happens then

but did you try to edit the profile to see if it then allows you to delete it? hopefully that works, otherwise you have to email customer service and tell them and it takes a long time for them to fix it

I edited it and now html is disabled, but the comments remain. However, the second I did that, myspace deleted the profile, and therefore it's comment was null, and the delete option returned. I may have to just report all these profiles and get them deleted.

at least it worked..now that you deleted them you can re enable the html and should be ok

i got this same comment from someone who had a spam bot on their profile
it sucks i can't remove it or anything even when i hit delete comment seems whoever is behind it got rid changed the code for that it is fing agravating as hell.

Sorry, I should've been more specific. Myspace deleted only one of the accounts. The comment just said "profile deleted." I don't think it was becaues of anythign I did.

try this:
type this into you browser navigation bar:

then replace the 2 "ctl00"s in the link with the comment number in the list you are trying to delete
i.e. the first comment in the list is "ctl00" the second would be "ctl01" and so on.

i dunno if this works but its worth a try

ps this would be typed in after navigating to the comment editing section as its a function in that page.

I figured it out. Safari's inability to deal with every type of web code (like the relapse board) also comes as a blessing. It couldn't read the code for the comments, so the "Delete My Comment" option returned. It's all taken care of now.
