HAMMERFALL TO HOST LISTENING PARTY IN NEW YORK CITY
HAMMERFALL members Oscar Dronjak and Joacim Cans will host a listening party for their new album, Threshold at Lit Lounge (93 Second Avenue - between 5th & 6th Streets) in New York City on Monday, October 30th. Scheduled for North American release on October 31st, Threshold will be played in its entirety on the Main Floor between 8 and 11 p.m. A 21 & over event, admission is FREE and posters & samplers will be distributed to all fans in attendance. For those who cannot attend the event, the Threshold album will be available for streaming on AOL Music for seven days beginning Monday, October 30th at 12 Midnight Pacific / 3 a.m. Eastern at this location!
"HAMMERFALL in the Big Apple for Halloween, can it get any better?! Not for us, anyway! We're very excited to come to New York to premiere our new album! These are going to be some jam-packed days, as we have lots of interviews plus the Skid Row release party at the Hard Rock Café and hopefully some NHL action in addition to the Lit Lounge party on October 30th, of course. We'll be there to hang out and hear your impressions of Threshold, and kick back with everyone to share a few beers. Join us for a night of heavy metal and serious partying!"
The band recently completed a vampire-themed video for the song "Natural High," which entered the Swedish singles chart at #6 in late September. When asked who chose the song for the video, Dronjak responds:
"It was [drummer] Anders' idea. He heard the song with the vocals the first time and immediately said, 'This HAS to be the single.' I didn't feel that at all in the beginning, and it took me a while to get on his side, but now I'm positive that we made the right decision." "When all the vocal parts came together, it was the best choice," adds vocalist Cans. "Every part is very catchy: the verse, pre-chorus, chorus, the bridge, the solo. Everything is there for a reason. It has good continuity."
"We're both pretty proud of the new album," continued Cans. "It was a lot of hard work, but in the end, it was worth it. Everything took a little longer and a lot more effort - the drums, bass, guitars, vocals. Regarding the songwriting, it's the sixth album. We needed to come up with something new but stay within the confines of HAMMERFALL. Some songs took a couple of weeks to finalize a small passage while with other songs, some ideas worked perfectly well the first time." Dronjak adds: "It's full of energy and that's the most important thing about it. The production is full of life."
