This will be the second Thrash til Death show, or possibly the third, if something else I'm working on pans out. Come out and support local thrash!
THE ACCURSED (New Bedford's Thrash assassins)
REVOCATION (Technical Thrash/Death from Boston)
EXTINCTION AGENDA (youareaposerifyoudontlikethisband)
GRAVEHEART (Formerly Blistered Earth)
McCANNIBAL (Feat. Rev. Mike from Unholy Trinity)
You mean there are two metal shows booked in Massachusetts the same night? What are the chances...
Don't be a smartass. I was looking forward to that show and I am merely upset I will be missing it. Is it worth it? Yes. But I'm still allowed to complain.

Wasn't directed at you, but thanks for calling me a smartass.

I've already seen both Decapitated and Hypocrisy, so it's not a big deal. I just love them both live. Is there another tour date around here? CT maybe? I'll have to check.
I actually did...though I have no idea why that album exists. It makes no sense for Hypocrisy to write an album like that...that's what Pain is for. I like Pain, so I liked Catch 22. I just pretend it's a Pain album.
The tuning and songwriting reminded me a lot more of nu-metal than Pain, which is more like the Finnish goth metal stuff. I liked a few Pain songs, they sucked live though.
I know I've been giving out/posting flyers that say 9 pm, but I would get there around 8 if you want to see Mechannibal (which you obviously want to) because I'm told the music will need to start around 8:30.
i'm really looking forward to this show. i need a revocation fix and a copy of the new the accursed album. i also have been wanting to see extinction agenda for a long time and haven't had a chance to get to one of their shows. i remember liking graveheart when i saw them as blistered earth. never heard of mechannibal, but if there anywhere near as good as the rest of this lineup, i have to check them out.
I think a carbar is in order. And my car is actually bigger than most bars.

I have yet to hear Mechannibal myself (I think this is their second show) but I hear great things. They have Mike from Unholy Trinity on drums so that alone is worth checking them out.
It's actually Mechannibal, that was a fuck-up on my part. I don't think they have a demo yet, they are a very new band. Mike told me one of the big influences was Brutal Truth's 'Extreme Conditions...' That can only be a good thing.
I'm coming down from Canada to play this, and then I'm going to be a douchebag, turn around and not play, even though my fans are standing there waiting for me to play. Well, in my case, more like fan. Two less than that other Canadian band which just did the same thing.

Color me confused. I'm still psyched for this shit, regardless.
That one, however clever, really doesn't hold much weight with me. I'm from Quincy. I'd be watching 3 guys do blow in a dirty bathroom while I kept an eye out for security guards.
when i click on the directions part of the skybar website, it does not load. i know you people say it's easy to get there, but can you tell me if this looks accurate/easy:
12: Keep RIGHT onto I-93 [US-1] 11.0
13: At exit 26, turn RIGHT onto Ramp towards RT-3 / Storrow Drive 0.4
14: Take Ramp (RIGHT) onto SR-28 [SR-3] towards RT-28 / RT-3 / Storrow Drive 0.4
15: Turn LEFT onto Ramp towards RT-3 / Government Center / Kendall Sq. 0.2
16: Keep RIGHT to stay on Ramp towards Cambridge / Memorial Dr. < 0.1
17: Turn RIGHT (West) onto SR-3 [Cambridge St] 0.4
18: Road name changes to Main St 0.2
19: Road name changes to Broadway 0.5
20: Bear RIGHT (North) onto Hampshire St 0.8
21: Road name changes to Beacon St 0.6
22: Turn RIGHT (North-East) onto Park St 0.3
End: Arrive 518 Somerville Ave, Somerville, MA 02143-3250
this is coming from the south, so i'd be on 93 North.
McCANNIBAL: they were fun punk. Sort of like a cross between circle jerks and phobia. circle pit fun music with blastbeats. This was only their second show too. mike from unholy trinity on drums.
I was also told they had a female singer that had tattoos of demons ejaculating on angels, but they didn't. what they did have were a ton of people there to see them. I should have shot it all in B/W.
that's not what it says in the title of this thread.

Man, what a METAL show this was tonight!
Seriously, it was so damn awesome to play a show this metal with so many cool people in the audience. It's been a LONG time since we've played a show like this. Well, actually it's been a LONG time since we've played a show period....but that's besides the point haha.
The vibe of this show reminded me of what this scene was like around 98 or so...when metal began making it's comeback in the area and the actual scene was tight and friendly. Fuck, I sound friggin' old haha.
I'm gonna go ahead and ask The Accursed to just stop playing shows forever, because whenever I see their name on here I read it as The Accused and I get really excited for a fraction of a second before realizing that fucking extra R, and it just isn't cool to toy with my emotions, ok guys? thanks dudes
I've thought the same thing like once or twice.
the accused are doing shows again.

Wicked killer show! Congrats to Anthony on a successful/awesome show!
All the bands were awesome. My first time seeing Graveheart and I LOVED them (do they have CDs?), Mechannibal were pretty good, too...they sounded like later Black Flag meets earlier Rollins Band with blast beats. Their singer even looked like Rollins. Did 'United Forces' which was awesome. No one covers SOD.
I couldn't hear the vocals for EA, guitars were really loud...it was awesome. Revocation were awesome, as usual. The Accursed killed, and I'm happy a lot of people stuck around and sang along and crawled onstage etc etc.
This was rad. Really good turnout, so maybe the Skybar won't be so bad after all. I dug Mechannibal a lot, total fastcore. I hope they put stuff out soon. I liked the other bands too, but you knew that already.
graveheart: these dudes look a lot like blistered earth. I figured that they would sound like BE, but they didn't. Well, except their covers of some BE songs. The vocals were a lot different. Nothing like the old metallica vocals. They even started with synths and represented the scythes through their whole set and beyond.
extinction agenda: they are the future of metal. Or atleast they would if most the members weren't billed as the future of metal in their other band from the 90's. I kid. but these guys do rip it out oldschool trash like nobody's business. Back then, it wasn't all about blast beats and BREEEEEEE vocals. People now-a-days are shocked when you can understand what people are saying..
revocation: everyone in the bar moved up to the stage when they started. For some reason, I didn't get very good pictures of them. The lighting at the skybar is always so harsh that I guess I gave up during their set and just enjoyed the show. They don't play cryptic warning songs anymore so their set seems short. This world needs more songs about zombies and the interaction between having sex vs making love with them.
Wicked killer show! Congrats to Anthony on a successful/awesome show!

Can't wait for the next one, Anthony!
Thanks Pam, I will get a date there for a few months down the line and set something else up.
this was one of the best local shows i've ever been to. all the bands were great. sorry to the people i was mean to. i was mean to pam and the reverend, told jon i would kill him, and told rich i hated him. fun + booze makes me mean.
This was a great show, awesome bands and a huge turnout. Maybe the Skybar will get better crowds while Obriens is closed? I hope the Polaris show on the 25th will be as good as this one.
accursed, the: watching these dudes tonight reminded me of so many memories of them. Remember back when their manager was a total bitch? Ah.. Memories. They finally have their CD out now which means they can finally start writing new songs. Well, that is after they tour for the CD. That seems to be the case with screaming ferret a lot of the time, local CDs take too long to come out so by the time they get it out, the locals have heard the same songs for 3-15years. Old songs or not, the audience ripped it up as much as the band did. For 1/2 their set, I was waiting for jon to end up getting lifted up again over the crowd. In the end, there were no high air hijinks, but there were 3 dudes doing something melodic all over that stage. they definitly keep the stage presents real. oh and loki's hair is growning back and with it, his power.
I also was gifted 2 new shirts at this show. Revocation have supplied the dressing for my manly chest since sunday. The accursed shirt will come out tomorrow.
