hey, to u guys that use cams, what do you think of the Fuji Fine Pix S5200 as an entry level digital cam? I'm looking for a cam that can take awesome pics, 5mp, 10x optical zoom, and i don't want to wait in between shots! point and shoot cams you gotta wait like 2-3 seconds before its ready to go again. and if you use that thing in a hall or something the pics never come out good (not enough light). thoughts? thanks.

go with a sony N1 or H2.

all the 10x/5mp are the same. I bought my mom the kodak one, but like all of these consumer cameras, you are going to get that lag.

if you don't want no lag, drop twice as much on a nikon d50 and you will be much happier. otherwise you are just wasting your money on a camera that won't do what you want.

so as a "beginner" this Fuji wouldn't be worth the money? Should I just stick to point and shoot (Canon Powershots?) A few people are like why do you want such a huge camera!? Well I like the fact that I can soom in at 10x optical and i like the big lens not the pinhole lens found on all digital cams today. but i mean if i'm not gaining anything more except 10x optical on the Fuji then i mine as well stay with the point and shoot....

I'm a HUGE Nikon fan (always have been), but my little Cannon PowerShot S200 (few years old now) works quite nicely for point and shoot applications, and has virtually no lag between shots (read appx 1.5 seconds)

digital zoom sucks, so if you want high zoom capabillity, make sure it's optical.
