New site? Maybe some day.

we are here
don't post if you weren't here (he also asked me to type that) heh |

alarum: (mainstage) I ran into these guys in the back yahd of the after the bombs show. I had heard people talking about liking the music, but not really liking the vocals. Those people must not like atheist or mastaine's vocals. That's what they sounded like. they shredded pretty hard on stage, but didn't move around that much. At the beginning of their set, there were only a few people in the front, but the end, there was probably 40-50 people watching. they were suppose to use Neuraxis's set for the tour. Thankfully, I think everyone here is using the same kit.
today i wait: (secondstage) there were surprisingly a lot of people up stages. They were metaly hardcore. Some clean vocals. The music was ok, but nothing new. The singer looked a lot like nate johnson. |
absence, the: (mainstage) from florida. these guys ruled. It was totally swedish influence, but not over done. Some of it reminded me of the crown. They had an awesome presence on the stage too. Actually, the lighting was awesome for them. I hope it stays this good for the whole weekend. They are probably leaving it up for dragonforce or something. |
Remember, I'm 5 mins away... *tee-hee* |
arsis: (mainstage) they warmed up with a michael jackson song. The drummer is a fucking machine. I can see why people go gaga over him. they really packed in a lot of people downstairs. Surprising that there were this number of people into them and enjoying their set so early in the day/fest. The singer looked a lot like jason (misery index) back when he had long hair. though had played guitar and a purple guitar at that. His vocals were really hard to hear.
ligeia: (secondstage) suicide silence got moved up to 4:10 so ligeia set up. There were tons of kids up here too. A lot of the western mass kids were up front in some sort of most pit. They only sang along once that I saw, but I was only there for song and a half. It seemed like their set was wicked short. I was only down stairs for a couple minutes too. |
Wooo demiricous is setting up downstairs and I just got hugs from my boys! |
does the set time book say who tba is on saturday? |
ed gein: (secondstage) I was addicted to that new CD when it came out. After all the times I've seen them, I ran upstairs long enough to yell "suck my dick." which was awesome enough for me.
scarlet: (mainstage) ok.. Did everyone from scarlet go back into spitfire? I didn't recognize them. They did upgrade their stage lights. They had tall NIN-ish lightboxes. it sounded a lot different and was missing that mechanical sound that the CDs have. there were samples so I don't know where the reset of the sound was.Their lightshow was good though. Quite blinding. The new singer is a freakin acrobat. I missed it but I guess he did 3 back flips. |
suicide silence: (secondstage) ok, this is one of the most over hyped bands on the scene for a while and I would just like to say believe the fucking hype. They were awesome. If goratory became a grind, metalcore influenced band (i mean one that isn't burn in silence) it would be this band. The vocals were nasty and they packed the upstairs in tight with people. For some reason, the drummer had a slyzac mask on. I need to listen to some mp3.
demiricous: (mainstage) so they sign to metal blade and then all of a sudden look like amon amarth? I think this is the first time I've seen them since they played my radio show. The new drummer fit in perfectly with their music. They sounded awesome on this stage and all the people in the room were throwing them horns. |
Did you see the McCrackster?! |
haha...nobody at our show down the street from the palladium tonight is gonna like us since all the metalheads are at said metalfest
whoops i posted without being there |
neuraxis: (secondstage) didn't play due to van issues.
from a second story window: (secondstage) ew... clean vocals in the new stuff they play. I don't like that one bit.when I walked in I thought for a second that it was if hope dies. Dudecore's gotten shaggy. The crowd got into them more than any other band yet. Even Moe crowd surfed. I felt bad for whom ever was under him. I had to run out at thee end of their set, but I will assume it descended in to utter chaos, madness, doodness, hi-fives, piggy backs, kick flips and quite possible some fish in a place that you would not expect to find them. I heard that derek crack some small kids head open with his guitar. |
nodes of ranvier: (mainstage) I had been wanting to see them after the first of the CDs I got. Though I didn't want to see them after the second. the drummer does their clean singing and is way more pronounced. They played mostly all heavier stuff today. Only towards the end did they head towards the pussy stuff. |

NEMHF Version. |
NotCommon Records grinds anything Mass Concerts does into the ground |
dead to fall: (mainstage) pristine sound for them. Unfortunately for me, they played the songs I like when I was upstairs for. Jon spent most of the time out in the crowd and standing up on the railing in the front. The security guards loved that.
ringworm: (secondstage) I thought I was running up stairs for a perfect murder and instead caught part of one of the best bands around. A lot of the western mass kids were there in the front singing along. I kind of looks empty, but that is only cause the front constantly had people dancing. They sounded really powerful up on that stage. It's been way way way too long since I've seen them. Saddly, I promised I would go down stairs and watch the bags while carina made a phone call so I only caught a couple songs. Please, get them in brockton please. |
if hope dies: (mainstage) lately, I've seen them in so many shitty places. Lately, it seems like they are on almost every tour possible. It was awesome to hear/see them in a venue where you could actually hear them. On stage, they were pretty much just head banding along like the last few times I've seen them except now the bassist wasn't standing in an immensely annoying red light (wher he usualy stands on the stage if youlook through the older pictures). For the last 3 songs, I watch from the balcony. Sounded awesome up here. the singer never went into the audience.
I just walked in the back way for the upstairs and wow.. sure does smell like CC's about to play. unholy chiva! |
through the eyes of the dead: (mainstage) I was there for like 2 songs before getting yelled at to stop taking pictures. After my first encounter with them in a tiny american legion, it was weird seeing them up on a big stage.the sound was petty much spot on for them. |
cephalic carnage: (secondstage) wow, it sure does smell like a ceephalic carnage show. They have a new bassplayer the bassist still did the singing parts that jawsh did, but wasn't quite the character that jawsh was. In the middle of their set, I ran down stairs and missed the fucking masks! Damn it. they sounded awesome even though they pulled most front the new CD. The front was all horns for them. Awesome to see them still getting respect and drawing crowds. Adam (goratory, aka: infant skin suitcase) was the happiest person in the world up front there with the songer from arsis. The ended with lucid interval. people yelled for more but they quickly shut down the second stage to let people into the balcony. |
acacia strain, the: (mainstage) did I point this out before, seth has aquired the ability to spin his bass around his sholders. That is hilarious. For the entire set, the only person who went into the crowd was chris. they played their last song and both vincent and chris jumped out into the crowd. Chris made it with his guitar, ass first into the crowd. Vincent wasn't so lucky.. Or.. More to the point, the person he kneed in the face wasn't so lucky. They left the stage saying there was a special guest setting up... I didn't know who it was until I saw them setting up... |
way to leave us hangin rev |
red chord, the: (mainstage) I looked up and saw them setting up. I thought WTF! I figured it was one of their side projects o something. They played 4 songs, black santa. Um. Something.. Clients.. And then finished with dreaming in dog years. Guy spent the entire time in the crowd and telling people to go see them play the QVCC on may 7th with ed gein. |
haha...i bet that show will draw 6x more than than my qvcc show...
hooray |
still remains: (mainstage) the one and only time I saw them, they had a temp singer. The real singer was so much better with the crowd. He stood on the barricade a bunch of times and dove out into the crowd with out missing a beat. The music was too sing-songy so it wasn't my bag at all, but they covered NIN head like a hole which was cool... in theory. sounded weird hearing it done by them. I liked whem MBP covered that song better. |
Ok.. So during the acacia strain...I got 2 mouthfulls of water on me and my camera...wtf? Both times ... I think his name was seth..well that left a bad taste in my mouth..so I said fuck u and left...I won't be posting the few pics I took either... Thought it was lame to do it to me twice...and gross...I took off and ran into adam goratory and jawshy..chatted for a bit and then josh asked me to hold his beer...then bumped into nate (demiricous singer) and we chatted for a while..then their mgr came up to us and nate introduced me as carina the best photographer..hehe..then their mgr told us that the red chord was going to play an impromptu set...3 songs....I wanted to tell aaron..but chatted for a while longer..then I went to run back to aaron but bumped into someone else...chatted some more and finally got back to aaron and I said "there's gonna be a surprise performance..." And he replied the red chord...dammit I took too long and they were already setting up..I hope that demiricous gets a permanent drummer! Their original drummer is going to tour europe with them, but that's it. |
seth is the bassplayer (ex-DWD).
haste the day: (mainstage) this is take 2 for me with the new singer. He puts some more random lows that make me wonder if he's been listening to suicide silence. Standing up on the railing seems to be the order of the day for all these bands. Their set was typical from the songs I've seen them do.
In the bathroom, there is a last chance to reason flyer withquotes from people all over it... Why don't people quote me? Oh wait, they do.. and then it gets me in trouble. |
necrophagist: (mainstage) oh man! they played stillborn one, epitaph, some old song I didn't know (it might have been onset of putrefaction). Fermented something or other. They played one more track that I thought was stillborn one but it wasn't (it was the first one). The sound was much better than you would have expected from this place, but you still could hear all the sweet arpegios. Still this was worth the wait. They were so good. I just hope I can see them again before they go back to europe. Are the rumors true. |
a life once lost: (mainstage) they only played like one song that I really like. The singer was more sedate one stage then usual. He had 2 crates in the front that he stood up on, screaming and failing his head around. They announced that they've played 4 metalfests. I've seen them every time. I think this was a change up and they've played on the second stage every other time. At one point the singer was thrashing around like a jac-n-the-box on top of one of those crates, pretending to beat off and carina was right in front of him. I didn't know whether to laugh or warn her cause I don't think she saw what he was doing. During their last song, the singers for unearth and dead to fall ran out and sang, jon and trevor. The singer of alol was in the crowd at this point and as the song ended, the guitarist launched himself out on to the crowd with his guitar. |

fermented offal discharge.
Necrophagist is sick. |
I'm very fucking depressed that I had to miss Alarum, The Absence, Arsis, and Necrophagist, but I could only afford to go two days, and I'm not passing up Dragonforce, and there's too many bands on Saturday that the lady likes. And we would've had to miss Alarum and the Absence. (And I could only get either Friday or Sunday off...and Dragonforce takes priority over all else.) |

It's not on the events page so I don't believe it. |
wrong, with TRC, if it's not on their site, they aren't playing it and probably don't know about it.
ps: lacuna coil is taking so damn long to set up. |

Black Dahlia and BTBAM? set lists perhaps? |
cephalic carnage rules.
between the buried and me: (mainstage) they sounded good and had a pretty long set. Would say that the sound was much better than that last tour they came on. trevor camed out with gun face and sang on the second to last song, a cover of territory (they are releasing an all covers album in jun I think.) there is a picture of the set list if you are so inclined.
On a sad note: someone in BTBAM's gf left her dog in her car on main st in worcester and the car with the dog was stolen. if anyone know anything about this or has information that could lead to the where-abouts of this dog, please contact this guy: http://www.mcgruff.org/ |
You should have gone to KC's Tap instead, Rev.
There was some blonde older lady sitting on the floor in front of the stage most of the night clicking a bunch of pictures.
ringworm would have ruled. everything else can suck a huge dick....
i'll probably be there today for ramallah if i wake up on time. |
ramallah isn't playing.
they cancelled. |

I was the person who got kicked in the face!
was every band using the house equipment? |
the same kit drum set for most bands on the mainstage. |
I just asked and they said the back line is the same for all the bands up until the headliners. |
thanks alot man, saves us a haul |

hey rev, you already posted that review...plus a bit about a dog being stolen |
BDM was awesome. I left before Coil and it looked like 90% of the crowd did too. |
that was a hell of a show. if anyone saw the guy wearing brown pants and a suicide silence shirt that was constantly running around and jumping and shit in the pit. that was me.
iwas like OMFG when red chord came out. that was pretty fucking awesome.
Necrophagist was amazing as well. incredible band |

the clean vocals are an ok addition in my opinion. I felt iffy about them at first, but Will does them very tastefully and has killer screaming vocals to back it up so i'm ok with it. It doesnt matter who this band plays with, they ALWAYS steal the show. I felt bad for the poor saps under me, heh. |
day was AMAZING
me = asshole in the bright yellow shirt and baby blue hat |
p.s. the new songs they played were awesome...sounded fucking huge even through the shitty Palladium sound system |
Actually the sound was great everywhere |
I feel like the only one saying but the sound was quiet and muddy. Almost every band had a very muffled effect to them. I was happy to hear the guitar solos from Necrophagist crystal clear. |
Necrophagist were great. This day was boring. |
carina, pam, george, myself and some others |
I heard Derek from "FASSW" got arrested. Can some one confirm this? |
I heard from one person that the police took him away.
I heard from another that he ran off to the kid who's head he split open's hospital room.
which is true? I don't know. |
i think the authorities said something to him, but he definitly went to the hospital with the kid who's head got split open. The kid didnt mind that much he's actually a big fan of the band and shit so it was all good in the hood Range Rover all wood, nah'm sayin |
chris isn't in the band anymore.. its dan and dan on guitars |
I have been sitting in the office every day of the fest..and I heard a bunch of cops stories from the cops themselves (all from this weekend)..and all I will say is that some people are too retarded for words. |
anonymous said: chris isn't in the band anymore.. its dan and dan on guitars |
what are you referring to? |
he's reffering to the acacia strain. the second I posted that, I was like "fudge! I meant dan" text.returntothepit oesnt have the ability to edit posts and I've been so busy that I forgot to edit it. that is the second time I've posted calling dan (ex-BYD) chris. chris was TAS's 3rd gutarist who left. |
Black Dahlia Murder: (mainstage) sooo the boys from BDM came back to worcester mass. They didn't seem as happy to be here as they normally do. New England has supposed them immensely. Heck 1/2 of the bands here rip thim for and claim they are influenced by carcass. anyhow, they dressed like the party guy from an 80's movie. Basically, they were all rodney dangerfield. trevor spent most of his time in the audience (there os evidence of a dude coping a major feel). With the insane amount of touring they do, they had time to wrote a new song. oh, the new drummer looks like blink182. when BDM finished, the place cleared out. I guessing over 600 people turned and left. |
lacuna coil: (mainstage) well.. A lot of people jetted, but still played their set. The lack of people could also have had something to do with fact that they played here two weeks ago to a backed house. The lighting made it really hard to get a good shot of christina. I ran out when they played their radio hit. |
I'm surprised that no one mention the fact that the guitarist of FASSW took his guitar case, put it on top of the crowd, stood on it while playing guitar for I Tried Voodoo Once, and then did a front flip into the crowd where no one caught him and he fell really hard. I heard some kid was pressing charges against the guitarist who spilt his head open and might sue. I also heard something about the kid needing his head stapled. |

I wasn't in the room when that guitar case thing happened, but I heard it was awesome. |

the_reverend said: I wasn't in the room when that guitar case thing happened, but I heard it was awesome. |
I wish you were Rev. I was hoping to see pictures of it seeing as how it's one of the most amazing and origional things I've ever seen a band do live. And I'm sure someone is going to bitch me out and say "how is that origional?" but IMO it was my favorite moment of the fest. |
I would have seen it cause I ran down stairs, shot a couple shots of a band and then sat down thinking fassw would be done. the band stopped and I heard FASSW still playing so I ran up stairs and they were walking off the stage. |
Eh I don't blame you, you basically did 3 days of running around so it's understandable. Definately an awesome moment though. There was like a million photographers there so someone had to get something. |
FASSW-
What happened with the kid getting hit: Derek throw his guitar into the crowd, he ran up and kicked it. The headstock cracked some kid in the head. The kid left and went to the hospital. Derek was talked to by the staff and police but that was more to warn him what COULD have happened (someone being more seriously injured, him being sued, etc.)
Derek then left and stayed with the kid at the hospital while he got patched up. He was no also no allowed back in the building so he slept most of the day in the van. The kid who got wacked went back to the show. Everything is fine. |
fuck the guitar case surfboard, rev shoulda been in there for my guest vocals! |
moe guest vocalist for FASSW? never seen that happen. |
mOe that was you who picked Derek and put him on the guitar case? |
moe was the only black dude there. DwD shirt
actually, around here, moe's pretty much the only black dude whenever the show is. though, if you go to NJ, there are 3 moes.
Maxi-Moe (I think he's now in the band cipher)
Moe (I think he's in every band)
Mini-Moe (I think he's in a band, but I forget) |
