my truck right now is a 93 suburban with a 5.7l V8, not very gas friendly when i drive 150+ miles a day on a regular basis.

So, im selling that, if anyones interested, im asking $1500/bo., let me know if your interested. Its no jem, the body has 323,000 miles on it, and it needs some work, but the current engine has about 80/90k on it, i changed it out about 3 years ago. Its also on its 3rd transmission and is gonna need a PS pump w/pressure and return lines soon, as well as struts and tires. but ya... its very good for hauling equipment, but i just can swing it anymore.

so, im buying this... its only a 4cyl., i was hoping for the 4.0L 6cyl, but the price is right. 2002, with 35k, spotless interior, and still under warrenty for $12,900. Thats my exciting news for the week.

best to check out the recalls for that year and model. it has a few, probably nothing serious. link: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

cool, thanks, yea, i figure its stil 100% under warrenty, so the first couple months i have it im gonna beat the everliving shit out of it... too work out the bugs.

toggletoggle post by bowelskinfacecloth at Mar 12,2006 12:10pm
i wouldnt buy that for 12k, are you on acid?

toggletoggle post by kyledoesnot at Mar 12,2006 8:54pm

is it an automatic or manual? either way, youll be getting 17/18 mpg at best. thats pretty crappy for a 4 cyl. Find a 6 so you can actually go offroad (in true style).

you obviously know nothing about the current automobile market, and i am, infact, very well educated on the subject. that vehicle goes for roughly 20k new, and with the mileage and warrenty offered, as well as chrysler pre owned certification, thats a very good price.

come back and talk to me as soon as your an ASE certifed mechanic, like me.

and it is a 5 speed, 17-20mpg, a lot better than the 6mpg im currently getting. And I agree, i would prefer the 4.0L straight 6, but for used vehicle there are currently none within a decent range of me for less than 16k, that arent shitboxes. Belive me, i would much rather the 6.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Mar 12,2006 10:56pm
hahaha, and as for the suburban...

Kelly Blue Book current retail value = $5,260.00 (even with the mileage)

have you considered getting a wagon? like a volvo wagon, or an Escort or something of that nature.
That's what I'd be looking at if I were looking for a capable vehicle that can hual music gear and still get decent milage.

dude, you should come muddin with me.

get a 96 roadmaster wagon... it can hold all of your band's shit and it gets over 20mpg highway... 21 gallon and you have 400+ miles per tank EASY. they also ride like a dream and the LT1 is an engine that has a gazillion parts for. best part? it will only cost you like 4k for a great one. seriously... thats what i would get if i was looking for something practical and travel friendly.

toggletoggle post by spaldino at Mar 13,2006 3:00am
not to mention that its a LUXURY vehicle... full leather interior, cd player, everything.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Mar 13,2006 6:38am
theres nothing luxury about a roadmaster.

and i dont need to haul gear, thats not my concern right now, im more worried about my mileage and then 4wd for the winter.

No dealer would ever be able to sell your suburan around that price. Theyd have to roll the odometer back behind 120k and have their "friends" at the dmv clear out all previous mileage info except the first time it was registered.
at least youre realistic. 1500 is decent; maybe someone living in "rural" Mass. will see it and consider using it as a weekend warrior. have you put it on craigslist yet?

are you insane? i dare you to try to find a better ride for the price... you wont. itll ride smoother and be more plush inside than most luxury cars today

my friend just bought a 2006 Lexus IS 250 and boy it not only looks killer the thing runs like a well oiled machine and beyond! i think its probably the best luxury sedan made. its priced decently and you get what you pay for but man, since i have a bad job i could never afford one. i guess that's the difference, me graduate from no name university he graudates from Yale University. :(

you cant get more luxury than the mid 80s lincoln town cars. i had one once. it was a pimped machine (not really)

no, no, no, i would never expect a dealer to buy this, they never would, im gonna be throwing it online this weekend.

and as for the vehicle, i do believe ive opted to go for the brand new 2006 Wrangler X, 4.0, 6sp... jeep is offering 0% interest for 60 months, so it almost costs the same to buy a brand new one as it does to buy a used one.

i just mentioned it, but im basically lookin at an 06 for 20k, and with 0% for 60 months, with 0 down, im paying almost the same per month for the sam amount of time (60month), so it doesnt take a genious too figure it out... an 02 w35k, or an 06 with 0, for the same amount in total.

and when i buy the new one, i can swing it with a 4.0L 6cyl, and its still gonna be the same price as the used 4cyl.

I wonder when Jeep will stop making Liberty's. Does anyone care about them anymore?

toggletoggle post by NECTrepresent at Mar 14,2006 7:25pm
