For Immediate Release:
The Devin Townsend Band Unveils Synchestra

North American Tour Dates Scheduled Supporting Opeth

Devin Townsend is among the most respected and admired musicians in hard music today.
From his extreme music juggernaut Strapping Young Lad, to the experimental Ocean
Machine, Devin has made quite a name for himself in the music business. The Devin
Townsend Band is Devin’s movement in a different direction, and Synchestra, the second
Devin Townsend Band album, is a fine example of what varied sounds such a talented
musician is capable of creating.

Synchestra has a unique quality that allows each of the songs to stand alone, but the
sum is even greater than its parts. Each song leads seamlessly into the next, with an
ebb and flow of melodic and heavy parts that gives the album an impressive fluidity.
Starting with the gentle, lilting tones of “Let It Roll” to the crushing midsection
of “Hypergeek” to the spaced-out vibe of “Triumph,” (which features a stunning
guest solo by six-string wizard Steve Vai) the album rolls off to an impressive start.
One of the highlights of Synchestra is the intense lead single “Vampira,” which will
be added at metal and college radio on January 30th and 31st. A video for “Vampira”
has also been shot.

The special edition package of Synchestra includes bonus DVD of the band performing a
“best of” set live in the studio.

A track listing for Synchestra includes:

Let It Roll
Hypergeek
Triumph
Babysong
Vampolka
Vampira
Mental Tan
Gaia
Pixillate
Judgement
A Simple Lullaby
Sunset
Notes From Africa
