like seriously... this is the most fucked up and scary game ever. i suggest that you al l go out and buy this game... or if you dont have a ps2... buy one just for this game. also... the graphics are fucking awesome (just so all you graphics whores can be satisfied)

i just bought this game and thought i was the only one who noticed how fucking amazing it is. there's certain parts in it though where you suddenly die if you do something wrong. like a cinematic death. so you should just save every chance you get. i got killed by a subway... not by a huge walking pile of meat with two large fleshy clubs

This game totally kicks ass!

im on the latter half of the game... where it REALLY starts getting FUCKED up... i have no health items, no bullets, and one hit can kill me... that is where this game gets you. its so fucking scary like that. so i go into this room and find THREE shotgun shell boxes... i reload and equip it... walk out the door... and there goes my radio... static as hell... so im like "im fucking ska-rewed" i turn the corner and this fucking thing runs at me and my two friends watching (ones a chick who is hiding under the blanket at this point) are like getting all loud and jumpy now and i kill that bastard AND the other bastard behind him. but yeah... this is definitely the hardest silent hill ever. the story is pretty cool too (it being a sequel of the the original silent hill) i need to buy this game.

silent hill 2 is fucking insane as well.

i wont spoil anything for SH3 but all i have to say is...

Hospital ... Mannequin Room ...

the silent hill series is by far scarier than the resident evil series.
The RI 1 was pretty freaky since no one knew what to expect when they first played it.

don't get me wrong, RE is one of the most fun games i've ever played, but it's scare factor goes down significantly after the first one, since you pretty much know what's going to happen and they don't give you anything really new.

In the SH series, they change things up drastically and involve a soundtrack that will give you the jumps when you listen to it on it's own.
They ALWAYS throw you twists and turns to keep you guessing, and game after game just gets more and more tense.

with RE, it's just rebels vs. Umbrella.
with SE, it's a main character vs. the world and everything in it.
either way, i love both games.

also RE is about monsters... its like b-horror movie. its you vs zombies and genetic mutations. SH is about the occult and SATAN. you have no idea what the FUCK you are fighting or what to expect really. shit around you changes and everything is just meant to make you snap like a little twig. its more like a mindfuck than a real SCARE. although... that has changed with SH3. everything about this game is meant to rape you with fear and leave your mind in a state of nothingness. im not one to scare easily when it comes to this shit but i was playing this game with two other people in the room and we were all tense and nervous. amazing game... buy it now

doom3 is supposed to be taking the shock horror resident evil-type approach. that's going to be awesome.

silent hill's scarefactor rules all.
the only thing im thinking is, they better make more sequels.

I finially rented this game a few days ago. I like the graphics lighting a lot. Makes things very creepy. I'm at the part now after you get out of the train and in the sewer. I think I like resident evil a little better though. little more creepy, better weapons, better enemies, better gameplay, and so far, better plot.

I got to that same spot and then got distracted.

my issues with this are the same as with resident evil.
the controls suck and aren't fluid.

I should do the same. I'm a little further than that, but I just stopped playing for some reason.

i didnt bother beating the game which is very odd. i got to the very end of it though. i think overall i liked silent hill 2 better. but some of the extras they put in here for good scare-effect measure are amaaazing.

so what we are saying is that this is the best game that none of us have ever beat?

im tellin you guys, if you played the first one you would understand everything better seeing as that this is a direct sequel of the original. 2 was a different story (and so far my favorite game all around). but i havent beat this game because i rented it and i had to return it. i will beat this game soon enough and stuff. but man... if you watch jacob's ladder you will see a lot of similarities in silent hill.

Yeah I should go rent the first one. That's for playstion 1 right? Maybe I'll go buy one of those ps-x-change 2's to play pirated games.

I just finished this, finally. Once you get to Silent Hill, it gets really fucking creepy. I had to stop playing a few times. What a fucking awesome story too.

2 has the best story in my opinion... but 3 is great as well. ;)

I wasn't too into 2, and just the way 3 connects with the first worked out really good. But there were connections to 2 in this one also.
