when it rains it pours, so i expect the following week to be hellish to put it lightly. it always happens that way. here's a story from yesteryear that i am still amazed by...

my sophomore year at mass art, first semester, about half way through EVERYTHING in my life went awry. one day i left a booklet of 80 cd's (including EVERY slayer, napalm death, gwar, destruction, diabolical masquerade, nile and neurosis cd i owned, including a shitload of other random cd's and very rare stuff), on top of my van as i drove away from my cousin's house. i realized it the next day, and drove around the entire area i had covered in that 24 hour period, to no avail. i drove home miserable, only to find that i was stuck in road construction traffic for over 2 hours. i finally made it home at around 2 am. i made myself a large portion of chocolate milk to help me stay up and get my homework done for the next day, but i made the mistake of putting it down right next to the computer. i bumped it, and the milk went all over my mouse and keyboard. i needed the computer for the project, so i was shit out of luck. the next day at school i was making copies of about 250 sketches, final drawings, statements, etc. for one class in the library. i turned around for 10 seconds to get change for the copy machine, and when i turned around my stuff was gone. turns out the janitor thought it was to be shredded with newspapers. i caught him just as my last stack of papers went caput. that night coming home from work, an 18 wheeler sitting at a red light in front of me started going in reverse, not realizing i was behind him. it took about 30 feet for the guy to realize he could have faced negligible homicide charges. the next night i blew out a tire on the way to a very important date, spent all my money on getting towed, and the girl thought i blew her off. so that went out the window. to top it all off, the next day while trying to redo all the work i had lost in the library, i stepped downstairs for lunch and came back to a crashed computer. i had been writing 3 mid-term papers, a take home exam, 2 make up papers and working on half the stuff that got shredded. the grand finale was at the end of the semester when i got stress-related exyma (sp?), and mass. art's fine illustration dept. pretty much told me i was doomed if i stayed at that school. great times.
