one of my first pics in a magazine was a pic of the Hot Hot Heat drummer in Drum magazine

i came home last night and had a fed ex package from foo fighters PR with an awesome ticket so i can stay and watch the show as well as a press kit with all sorts of goodies!

they'll be going on at 9:40 from what i was told and i'll be there early around 6ish
ticket and website say 7pm but i'm not sure if that's doors or show start time

i like all 3 bands and am looking forward to it!

Hot Hot Heat can BLOW me...worst band
Weezer is one of my favorite bands, but that new cd sucks
Foo Fighters and i have a ove hate relationship. I love half of their songs and i hate half their songs. And the new cd doesn't appear to be that hot, although i havent heard most of it.

Ok well so far hot hot heat played...and weezer got done playing the 3rd song and I'm now in an office uploading pics and emptying my mem sticks. And when hot hot heat ended and I was going back stage .. I saw my favorite weezer member and he smiled and said hello....damn..he looks old....and his name escapes me now...plays guitar and soooo thin.
Once I empty my cards I'm gonna watch the rest of their set and foo goes on at 9:40

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 8:38pm

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 8:41pm
Photograph now ooooooooooo...

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 8:45pm
Uh oh..rhey covered blur..the woo hoo song and they were all drumming next to each other..that would have been a cool pic

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 8:47pm
Wow.. They ended...and all of a sudden rivers is at the sound board with his guitar singing island in the sun....aww melissa and sabrina would have loved that

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 8:51pm
They are now asking for volunteers to play guitar for the sweater song...undone.....yes

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 9:00pm
That kid billy was really good btw.......Hash pipe now....and they said the crowd in nj last night ...well he called then glue sniffers..and said this crowd ruled..harhar wonder what was said last night...and ewwwwwwww someone farted and it stinks...and to anyone reading this I'm using my phone to keep notes for my official review....and now buddy holly...I think this will be last

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 9:09pm
I love the lit up W ...they had that for the last song then threw confetti

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 10:05pm
I got a foo fighters shirt...put it on shot the first 3 songs....talked to a friend of dave grohl's who loved my equipment...he had a d70 ....anyhow...my seat got upgraded.....to right next to the stage...with some fan club and contest winners...he's singing up in arms...acoustic....singing it for local boxer mickey rourke...now it's learning to fly...

toggletoggle post by nate nli at Oct 15,2005 10:12pm
Carina... It's awesome that you're getting the chance to do something you have strived to do. If the FF's and the other bands PR firm wanted you to shoot the show than it proves your photography skills are stupendous. I hope your career skyrockets, and don't forget us little guys.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 10:17pm
Times like these....the one...ps I love how he introduces each song...like it's necessary...hehe..oh and I can see a circle pit on the floor...heh....stacked actor off the 3rd record is on now....the show sold out pretty fast..there's only a small section behind the stage empty...and they closed those seats bcz they were worried about the acoustics...

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 10:26pm
Wow....dave some guitar solos with a ton of riffs while running around the entire venue giving everyone a show....of course..his big black bodyguard was behind him...that was the guy who tapped me on the shoulder just as song 3 ended....why do they tap my shoulder first? Grrr though they told me I was the only person who shot all 3 bands...

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 10:31pm
Dave just gave props to dropkick murphys..and said how they played a fest with them in holland..and they kick ass they played doa for them and their family members that are here tonight....before that he said that he felt like american top model when he was walking around the venue....and he did a little strut and then burped into the mic...hahaha it was load...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 15,2005 10:34pm
this reads like football notes to me as I understand none of it.

Thank you nate<3 I'm actually writing a review of the show for my site and posting pics..wooo..but rather than pen and paper I'm using this thread....

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 10:42pm
Taylor hawkins and dave grohl switched so taylor is singing and dave is playing the fuckin drums...yes! I haven't see him on stage drumming since nirvana....this is a song off the new album...I don't know it yet

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 10:49pm
Dave paused to talk about how his family is the most important thing to him...then asked for a spotlight on the soundboard...mrs dave grohl is here...heh he made everyone say hello to mrs grohl....haha...she's a model but I forget her name...thenhe pointed out her dad...her mom jackie whose bday it was....the arena sang happy bday...and he played everlong for his mother in law

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 11:06pm
He played a song for rivers....came out for an encore....and the last song is monkey wrench for nick christie the first guy he formed a band with when he was a kid. Dave was very charismatic and talked to the crowd a lot which was very cool. Awesome night

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 15,2005 11:24pm
Heh so I'm walking out to my car...and gues who's in front of me? Hot hot heat...I say something like hello fellow canadians....and they turned around hahaha then I told the singer about my pics and he stopped and we chatted for a while..very cool dude....

hot hot heat should change their name to gay gay fag. i remember hearing them a few years ago and hating them, but it's nice to know that you got to shoot more bands you like. glaf to hear you had a good time at that show. i had fun at the show in dartmouth tonight.

Hey Carina!! We never made it up too close to the stage unfortunately, but the show was awesome, especially the foo fighters. Thanks for remembering us : )

haha makes me think of a Prince pasta commercial

Sorry its taken me so long, I'm really busy with school and had class all morning

The pics look awesome!! I didnt catch hot hot heat although judging from the pics they look fun to watch at least, although ive never heard their music

weezer ... i dont know, i left with a worse impression of them than before i saw them. I always enjoyed the few weezer songs i'd heard on the radio and such (i.e. sweater song) but i was disappointed with their live performance. They just didn't seem to put enough energy and interest into their musicianship and I felt the playing from pretty much all the members was lackluster. they kinda seemed bored.

foo fighters - i've always liked this band and i was really impressed with their performance. solid musical performances from all the members and dave is an excellent frontman and very funny. I also thought their set and video show was really cool. even songs i never really got into like 'learn to fly' were much cooler live because dave kept on going in to his primal scream every chorus.

my gf and i were sitting on the perimeter of the ga area and dave ran right by us when he went into the crowd, that was really cool

i'm going to look through all the pics tonight when i get some time

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Oct 18,2005 1:20pm
sweet!
and it's funny what you said about weezer...they just seemed really old ( but i thought they sounded awesome!) i have pics of each memeber where i think they look like a potential child molester
