New site? Maybe some day.
8/25/05 at Dee Dee's in Quincy. More info coming tommorrow. |
More info coming because I was eating a sandwich when I was told the lineup. |
dude I seriously seriously hope you continue to have powerviolence thursdays
that would be THE single greatest weekly event in the history of mankind |
Sadly, I'm just the messenger. This is probably a onetime thing, since other than IWEIPH out of state bands had to be tapped. Since no one really plays powerviolence anymore. I mourn the death of Slap-A-Ham Records everyday, on a side note. |
I'd start a powerviolence band just to play if it was weekly. |
I suggest everyone harass Joe Mcnamara, then. Apparently "everyone" consists of two people, in my narrow world view. |
you fucking cocktease.... whats the details!!!!! |
Once Joe calls me with the confirmed lineup, you'll be the first to know. |
Powerviolence is the greatest thing since sliced bread, sliced cheese, and sliced cold cuts, but unfortunately I don't think I'm even old enough to get into this place. It's 21+, isn't it? |
It is, like far too many places. |
ok, I'm gonna get in touch with Joe soon about maybe doing Powerviolence Thursdays every week... maybe he can set you up to run it, Richie Rich
who else could play? Start some PV bands, fuckos |
it's such a good idea but I'm so sure it's not gonna pan out. sigh. |
The only bands I know of are IWEIPH, Shred The Past and Third Death. You'd probably have to get some non-PV band to headline each week just to get people in the door. It would also probably consist mostly of touring bands, unless you had the aforementioned bands playing the thing once a month or something. I dunno, sounds cool... but it'd take a lot of planning and thinking. |
Oh, there are a few PV bands in New Bedford too. Wrath, Sirens and Dragged Out & Shot. But they're all well under 21 and obviously aren't going to draw at a 21+ place. Boston needs an all ages venue in a big way. And one that gives all forms of loud music and new bands a shot. So any current all ages venue doesn't apply. |

If I knew anyone else in Rhode Island who wanted to, I would be all over that. Seriously. |
did you guys forget the hell ive been going through trying to start a PV band, like 5 people on this site know what it even is, and most people around here wouldn't even show up to an ASSHOLEPARADE show... ya fucks!!
Spazz who? |
Asshole Parade is awesome, but nowhere near the big deal as some people tried to make them out to be. I always knew them because of the dude's label and because they opened for some rad shows. |
details yet?????????
i hope this is worth the hype (mentally)
thats only 2 days away, isnt this cuttin it close? |
Nothing is ever wortht he hype, but I hope this can be the start of more powerviolence bands being brought to the area. |
so what are the details to this, i'm lazy and eating so i dont read all this thread.
edit
cause Curl Up and Die is playing early in Framingham and if this is a goodline i'd hit it up. |
